The Grand Seiko SBGW273, SBGW275, and SBGW277 are three manual-winding watches introduced as U.S.-limited editions in 2021. Each reference was limited to 140 pieces. Their main visible distinction is dial color: light green for the SBGW273, teal for the SBGW275, and medium green for the SBGW277. The official boutique lists the same core specifications for all three, but now marks each “No Longer Available.”
How the three references differ
Grand Seiko connects the trio’s design to the greenery of Genbi Valley in Iwate Prefecture and to Kirazuri, a Japanese printmaking technique associated with a sparkling, textured effect. This is the brand’s stated inspiration for the dials, rather than a claim that the watches use a particular printmaking process.
The boutique describes the dial tones as follows:
| Reference | Dial tone | Edition size |
|---|---|---|
| SBGW273 | Light green | 140 pieces |
| SBGW275 | Teal | 140 pieces |
| SBGW277 | Medium green | 140 pieces |
The 140-piece limit is stated on Grand Seiko’s official boutique pages; Fratello covered the trio as a 2021 U.S.-market release. The SBGW275 page additionally describes that reference as available only through Grand Seiko Boutique Online. Fratello’s 2021 release coverage and the GS9 Club model story provide further background on the release and Genbi Valley design story.

| Specification | SBGW273, SBGW275, and SBGW277 |
|---|---|
| Case material | Stainless steel |
| Case dimensions | 37.3 mm diameter, 11.6 mm thick, 44.3 mm long |
| Lug width | 19 mm |
| Crystal | Box-shaped sapphire |
| Strap | Crocodile leather with buckle |
| Movement | Hand-wound mechanical caliber 9S64 |
| Jewels | 24 |
| Power reserve | 72 hours |
| Accuracy | +5 to −3 seconds per day when static |
| Water resistance | 30 m |
| Magnetic resistance | 4,800 A/m |
The “when static” condition belongs to the maker’s printed accuracy specification; it is not a promise of the same rate during every wearer’s daily use. The 30 m figure is the listed water-resistance rating, not a recommendation for a particular activity. The 19 mm lug width can help when searching for a strap, but it does not by itself confirm that a third-party strap’s ends, buckle, material, or length will suit a particular watch.
Specifications are listed on the official pages for the SBGW273, SBGW275, and SBGW277.
