What is different about the dials?
SBGW327: pale blue, as reported
Piazo describes the SBGW327 as having a very pale blue textured dial. That gives it a lighter, cooler appearance than the SBGW323, but the description is secondary reporting rather than an official Grand Seiko specification in the sources cited here.

Grand Seiko says the SBGW323 combines the Mt. Iwate dial pattern with a purple color inspired by kiri, the official flower of Iwate Prefecture. The brand presents the watch as a modernized take on the 44GS. Its dial reference is therefore both a pattern and a regional color inspiration, rather than simply a purple finish.

Are they the same size and movement?
The reported SBGW327 dimensions match the SBGW323’s official measurements: 36.5 mm across, 42.7 mm lug-to-lug, and 11.6 mm thick. The shared case size suggests the choice is not primarily about wearing a larger or smaller watch, although fit also depends on wrist shape and personal preference.
Both are reported to use manual-winding Caliber 9S64 with an approximately 72-hour power reserve. Grand Seiko lists the 9S64 at 24 jewels and 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Its stated mean daily rate is +5 to -3 seconds per day; the brand separately lists normal-use accuracy as +10 to -1 seconds per day. These are manufacturer specifications, not a promise that every individual watch will keep a particular rate. The movement details for SBGW323 are official; the SBGW327 match is reported rather than independently confirmed by a Grand Seiko product listing.

Bracelet versus leather strap
The SBGW323’s official listing specifies an 18 mm band and a stainless-steel bracelet with folding clasp. Piazo reports that the SBGW327 comes on leather, but does not establish its strap width in the cited coverage. If the strap is a deciding factor, confirm the SBGW327’s exact configuration with a local authorized retailer before buying.
Price, regional availability, and what is confirmed
Grand Seiko Boutique Online announced the SBGW323 for Japan on May 10, 2025, at ¥770,000 including tax. That announcement establishes the planned Japanese release and launch price at that time; it does not establish today’s price in another market.
