Air-Glaciers helicopter pilots helped shape Hamilton’s Khaki Aviation Pilot Air-Glaciers Special Edition, but Hamilton describes the work as a collaboration—not a watch designed solely by pilots. Did helicopter pilots design the Air-Glaciers watch?
Hamilton says the watch was “Crafted with direct input from the Air-Glaciers helicopter pilots.” The company also says its designers and the Air-Glaciers team considered every detail during development. That supports describing the watch as pilot-informed and collaboratively developed; Hamilton does not name individual pilot designers or say pilots were its sole designers. What is the Air-Glaciers edition?
Hamilton’s international collection identifies it as a 42 mm Khaki Aviation Pilot Day Date Auto Air-Glaciers Edition. A retailer lists the reference as H64655941. The reference is useful when distinguishing this special edition from other Day Date Auto variants. Hamilton’s Khaki Aviation collection includes the edition alongside standard models.

Hamilton says it chose titanium to reduce the case weight by 45%. The company does not specify the comparison baseline on its collaboration page, so treat that as Hamilton’s stated reduction rather than a general weight comparison against every other Khaki Aviation model.
Air-Glaciers details and included items
Hamilton describes an Air-Glaciers logo engraved on the caseback, an extra suede nubuck strap and Pelican Ruck Case R40 packaging as part of the special edition. These are the clearest distinguishing details documented by the company.

Reported technical specifications
Tourneau’s listing for H64655941 reports an automatic H-30 movement, an 80-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. Hamilton says Air-Glaciers was founded in 1965 and operates six bases across the Swiss Alps: Sion, Collombey, Leysin, Gampel, Lauterbrunnen and Gstaad. Its crews perform rescue missions as well as passenger flights, spraying, taxi and air-freight transport. Hamilton says the operator carries out more than 3,000 missions per year; the page does not state when that figure was published, so it should be understood as Hamilton’s undated claim, not an independently verified current total.
