Court’s work combines a full movement service with a blackened case, modified vintage orange hands and other visual changes. OnTheDash reports that nine CS2110-based pieces were made; current availability and commission terms are not established.
What is the AC Signature Monaco?
The AC Signature Monaco starts with the TAG Heuer Monaco CS2110, the 1997 reissue that OnTheDash describes as the first Monaco reissue after the earlier model had been discontinued. The original CS2110 is a stainless-steel chronograph with a black dial and ETA 2894-2 movement. TAG Heuer reportedly offered that base reference in a limited edition of 5,000 watches; that figure applies to the CS2110, not Court’s customization. OnTheDash’s account of the AC Signature and its CS2110 reference history provide the basis for those figures.
Court’s version is therefore best understood as a customized vintage Monaco: the donor watch remains a CS2110, while its finish and selected components are altered. It should not be confused with a later AC Signature model, the MC09. OnTheDash identifies the 2024 MC09 as a separate three-register design based on the 1998 CS2111.
What does the customization involve?
Fratello’s April 2023 hands-on account describes Court disassembling the CS2110 and fully servicing its ETA 2894-2 movement. He refines the visible metal components using lapping, polishing and media-blasting, with the aim of retaining crisp edges. The prepared parts are then sent for black PVD coating; Fratello says the coating itself is not performed by Court. Fratello’s report describes the process.

The orange hands are NOS Heuer parts that Court modifies to fit the watch. Fratello reports that they retain tritium lume. Against the black case, the orange hands and accents draw on the black-and-orange visual language associated with vintage Heuer chronographs.
Case coating and expected wear
Fratello characterizes PVD as more prone to scratching than DLC and says Court selected it partly because wear can become part of the watch’s character. That is the article’s account of the design rationale, not a universal comparative coating test. A prospective buyer should ask about the coating’s condition and how any wear has been assessed on the specific watch.

Strap on the reviewed watch
The watch shown in Fratello’s report wears a handmade black rally-style strap with orange stitching. That describes the reviewed example, not a guarantee of current stock or a standard package for every commission.
How many were made, and what was offered?
OnTheDash reported in 2023 that Court produced nine AC Signature Monaco pieces based on the CS2110, distinguished by serial numbers on the case back and date disc. This nine-piece figure is separate from the 5,000-watch reported production of the original CS2110.

Fratello reported a commission price of €7,800 in its April 8, 2023 article. It also said the reported offer included two handmade straps, a travel pouch and a booklet documenting the watch’s transformation. These are publication-era terms, not a current price or confirmed package. Current availability, commission pricing and the transaction channel are not established by the cited reports; verify them directly before making a purchase decision.

A standard CS2110 and the AC Signature are not interchangeable purchase options: one is the donor reference, while the other is that watch customized. When evaluating an AC Signature, establish what is original, what was changed, and what documentation accompanies the individual piece.

- Donor identity: Confirm the case reference and that the watch is based on a CS2110, rather than assuming any black Monaco is an AC Signature.
- Service records: Request documentation for the reported ETA 2894-2 service and any subsequent maintenance.
- Changed components: Ask which parts were refinished or replaced, and whether the orange hands are the modified NOS Heuer parts described in the 2023 report.
- Finish and wear: Inspect the PVD coating closely, especially edges and high-contact areas, and ask whether the case has been refinished since the customization.
- Edition identification: Check the case-back serial and date disc against the seller’s account of the nine-piece CS2110-based run.
- Included items and terms: Confirm the actual straps, pouch, booklet, condition, price and transaction terms for the specific watch. The reported 2023 package does not establish what is included in a present-day sale.
Buying an unmodified CS2110 gives you the base reference, not the AC Signature’s black coating, modified hands or documented customization. Conversely, a custom example should be assessed as a particular altered watch, with its own condition and service history, rather than valued solely by the original reference’s reported limited-edition production.
