How do the chronograph and second-time-zone display work?
The Chronoliner combines a chronograph with a second-hour indication. Fratello describes a 24-hour bezel and a separate 24-hour scale on the dial, alongside a separately adjustable second-hour indicator and date. The second-hour display can help track another time zone while the main time remains readable at a glance.

This is not the same as assuming the watch has a modern independently adjustable local-hour hand. The cited review does not establish the exact setting procedure, so consult the manual for the specific watch rather than inferring how to adjust its hands from the display alone. Fratello identifies the movement as Breitling Caliber 24, based on ETA/Valjoux 7754, and reports COSC chronometer certification.
What is it like as a watch to wear?
The red gold gives the Chronoliner a warmer, more formal presence than a steel aviation chronograph, while the rubber Ocean Classic strap pulls it toward sportier use. The 46mm diameter and 15.95mm thickness are substantial dimensions; the listed 118.57g weight reinforces that this is not a low-profile watch. Case proportions and weight can feel different from one wrist to another, so try an example on if fit is a deciding factor.

The 100m water-resistance rating makes the specification more versatile than a dress-only rating, but it is not a substitute for checking the condition of a pre-owned watch. Fratello notes a 100m marking on the caseback. Water resistance depends on the individual watch’s condition and the integrity of its seals; a historical rating does not confirm that a particular example remains water-tight.
What did it cost, and what does that say about its value now?
Time and Watches reported a launch price of €28,790 / US$29,920 in June 2016 for the red-gold watch on a rubber strap. What to check when considering a pre-owned R24312
A limited-edition label does not, by itself, verify an individual watch or establish its present value. Before buying, confirm the exact reference and inspect the watch’s condition and records.
- Reference and identity: Check that the watch is R24312, the red-gold limited edition, rather than a steel Chronoliner or the separate B04 Boutique Edition YB0460.
