Zenith DEFY Skyline Skeleton Debuts in Black Ceramic with Gold-Toned Movement

ZENITH’s 2026 DEFY Skyline Skeleton combines black ceramic with a gold-toned open-worked El Primero 3620 SK. Here’s how it differs from the rose-gold Tourbillon Skeleton.

ZENITH’s 2026 DEFY Skyline Skeleton pairs a black ceramic case and bracelet with a gold-toned, open-worked dial that reveals the automatic El Primero 3620 SK. The title’s “rose gold” wording needs a correction: the Skeleton is not described as having a rose-gold case. That material belongs to the separate DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Skeleton.

What debuted at LVMH Watch Week 2026?

ZENITH announced the DEFY Skyline Skeleton on 19 January 2026 as part of its LVMH Watch Week launches in Milan. Its reference is 49.9300.3620/07.I001. The official presentation centers on a deep black ceramic exterior and a gold-toned open-worked dial that exposes the movement beneath.

This is a launch preview based on ZENITH’s published materials and a retailer listing, not a firsthand review. No wrist impressions or independent observations of comfort, finishing, or legibility are established here.

Why “rose gold” is easy to confuse

ZENITH introduced two distinct open-worked DEFY Skyline models at the same event. The DEFY Skyline Skeleton has a black ceramic case and a gold-toned movement and dial. The separate DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Skeleton is the model described by ZENITH as having a rose-gold case and a tourbillon movement. They are not two names for the same watch.

DEFY Skyline Skeleton Black ceramic case; gold-toned open-worked dial Automatic El Primero 3620 SK; constant 1/10-second indicator
DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Skeleton Rose-gold case; fully open-worked execution Separate tourbillon movement

ZENITH’s 19 January 2026 announcement distinguishes the rose-gold Tourbillon Skeleton from the ceramic Skeleton. The official DEFY Skyline Skeleton collection page describes the ceramic-and-gold-toned combination.

How the El Primero 3620 SK display works

The open-worked dial makes the movement part of the visual design rather than concealing it behind a conventional dial. ZENITH identifies the automatic calibre as the El Primero 3620 SK. Its constant 1/10th-of-a-second running indicator completes one full rotation every 10 seconds, giving the display a visibly rapid motion.

That is a different emphasis from the Tourbillon Skeleton: the defining display detail stated for this Skeleton is the fast 1/10-second indicator, not a tourbillon.
