Its dimensions and crown-operated GMT setup are the key practical details: it is a caller or office GMT, not a traveler’s GMT with an independently jumping local hour hand. Specifications below come from Christopher Ward’s owner’s handbook; the design impressions are attributed to Fratello’s 2022 review.
What is the C65 Aquitaine GMT?
It is a mechanical GMT watch in Christopher Ward’s C65 Aquitaine line, styled as a vintage-inspired diver. The model combines a rotating timing bezel and dive-watch-oriented construction with a second time-zone hand. That combination is useful for tracking elapsed time and reading another time zone, but the bezel and GMT hand serve different purposes: the bezel rotates, while the GMT hand is set through the crown.
Fratello reviewer Tomas Rosputinsky assessed the White Sand dial with blue bezel, reference C65-41AGM2-S0BE0-B0, in a hands-on review published June 11, 2022. His comments about the watch’s appearance and feel are his impressions, not independent laboratory findings or firsthand testing for this article.
How large is it, and what does that mean for fit?
Christopher Ward’s owner’s handbook lists a 41mm case diameter, 12.7mm case height and 46.7mm lug-to-lug measurement. The lug-to-lug figure helps describe how far the watch spans across the wrist; it is worth considering alongside diameter when estimating fit. The listed weight is 70g, and the strap width is 22mm.

Rosputinsky considered the move to a 41mm case a positive downsizing and liked the curved sapphire bezel. Those are reviewer preferences rather than a guarantee of how the watch will wear on a particular wrist; fit also depends on wrist shape, strap or bracelet choice, and personal comfort.
Is it a traveler’s GMT?
No. Fratello characterizes the C65 Aquitaine GMT as an office, or caller, GMT. The GMT hand is independently set in one-hour increments through the crown, while the main hands set local time. It does not offer the traveler-style arrangement in which the local hour hand jumps independently when crossing time zones.

Setting home and local time
The owner’s handbook’s travel procedure uses the main hands for local time and the GMT hand for home time. Follow the crown positions and sequence in the handbook for the exact operation; the essential distinction is that changing the GMT hand does not make the local hour hand jump in one-hour increments.
The movement is a self-winding Sellita SW330-2 with 25 jewels and up to 56 hours of power reserve, according to the handbook. It also lists a date calendar and central hacking seconds. “Up to” is the manufacturer’s stated maximum reserve, not a guarantee of identical running time in every condition.

What are the bezel, crystal and dial like?
The handbook specifies a bidirectional stainless-steel bezel with a sapphire insert and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Rosputinsky particularly liked the bezel’s curved profile. On the reviewed White Sand and blue-bezel version, he felt the light dial let the bezel stand out and appreciated the date at 6 o’clock; those assessments apply to his reviewed configuration and remain matters of taste.
The handbook lists Super-LumiNova Grade X1 on the hands and indexes. It also specifies a screw-down display caseback and screw-down crown, details that describe construction but do not by themselves establish how a particular watch performs in water.

What does the 200-metre rating establish?
Christopher Ward rates the watch at 20 ATM / 200 metres. The handbook treats water resistance as a guideline, not an unconditional promise for every activity or every watch over time. It says movement, impact, temperature changes and seal condition can affect resistance, and instructs the wearer to fully tighten the crown before water use.
For water exposure, follow the manufacturer’s operating and care instructions and ensure the crown is fully screwed down. The rating alone does not establish that a particular watch’s seals are currently sound or that every water activity is appropriate.

What does Dry Marshal do?
In Rosputinsky’s explanation, Dry Marshal is a static orange/copper-colored marker around the crown tube that helps indicate whether the crown is screwed in. It is not an active warning system and does not change state to detect water or a loose crown.
Strap and bracelet options
The handbook specifies a 22mm strap width and quick-release pins for removing and reattaching a strap or bracelet. That makes changing compatible attachments more convenient, but the width alone does not confirm the end fit or compatibility of every third-party strap or bracelet; check model-specific fit before buying.
For the bracelet, the handbook describes five micro-adjustment positions and a maximum extension of 8.4mm. These provide adjustment at the clasp, while the available fit still depends on the bracelet and the wearer’s wrist.
What did the reviewed version cost?

The C65 Aquitaine GMT makes most sense for someone who wants a second time-zone hand set independently from local time, prefers a rotating sapphire-insert bezel, and is comfortable evaluating a 41mm case using its 46.7mm lug-to-lug span as well as its diameter. A traveler who specifically wants to jump the local hour hand when changing time zones should look for a traveler-style GMT instead.
