Its case comes down from 41 mm, and the bezel, flanks and dial have been reworked into a cleaner, more contemporary presentation of the same complication-rich layout. The redesign was covered in Rebecca Doulton’s hands-on report for Monochrome Watches, published on 30 May 2025. This article sets out what changed, what Pequignet states about the reference, and where the figures stop.
What changed in the redesign
The earlier Royale Paris was a 41 mm watch. Reference 9100633 shrinks the case to 39.5 mm while keeping the complication set, so the change is mostly one of proportion and finish rather than function. In Doulton’s description, the case gains recessed polished flanks, a satin-brushed bezel and lugs that are attached as separate pieces, which lets the case read as several distinct surfaces instead of one mass.
Case and bezel
The polished and satin finishing is the main visual device. Polished flanks are set back from the bezel, so the satin-brushed outer surface reads as a frame around the dial rather than a continuous band. Because the lugs are separate components, they sit visually apart from the case body. These are observations from the hands-on report, not measurements published by Pequignet.
Dial layout
The dial is organised around a trench that separates the outer minute track from the central complications. Doulton describes the small-seconds and moon-phase registers as overlapping in a figure-eight arrangement. Pequignet’s listing confirms the functional content of the dial: day and large-date apertures, small seconds, a power-reserve indicator and double moon phases. The moon display is described by Pequignet as showing both the northern and southern hemispheres. The opaline surface is the defining colour choice of this reference.

What the evidence does and does not establish
The design observations come from a single hands-on report. The specifications, patent count, sourcing claim and in-house manufacturing statement come from Pequignet. No independent timing test, long-term wear assessment or comparison with the earlier 41 mm case has been published in the sources used here, so any statement about accuracy, comfort or durability over time would go beyond the evidence.
Verdict
For a buyer who wants the Royale Paris complication set in a smaller, more finished case, reference 9100633 is a clear proposition on paper: a 39.5 mm case, 11.5 mm thickness, 5 ATM water resistance, a sapphire display back and a Calibre Royal with a 96-hour power reserve. Whether the recessed flanks and figure-eight dial composition justify the price is a matter of taste that the reader will settle by looking at the watch. Confirm the displayed price and delivery terms on Pequignet’s listing before deciding.
