The Anonimo Nautilo Vintage pairs a 42 mm steel cushion case and 200 m water-resistance rating with a softer, more elegant design than a purpose-first dive instrument. Fratello reviewer Andreas Ahrens found it comfortable on his 19 cm wrist, though its case shape made it look larger than its diameter suggests. Its appeal is strongest as a distinctive sports watch; the missing minute scale on the bezel makes it less suited to diving than watches designed around underwater timing.
What is the Anonimo Nautilo Vintage?
Anonimo introduced the Nautilo Vintage at Baselworld in 2019 as a softer, vintage-styled interpretation of its Nautilo diver. The launch model had a sunshine-blue dial, curved cushion-shaped steel case and the line’s screw-down crown at four o’clock. Anonimo described the shift from the 2006 “instrument watch” to a “pleasure watch”—the brand’s positioning for a more design-led take on the line, rather than an independent assessment of its dive utility. Anonimo’s 2019 launch announcement gives the original context.
The details that make it recognizable include the cushion case, crown guard and triangular marker arrangement. Anonimo says the company was founded in Florence in 1997, that military engineer Dino Zei joined in 2003 and developed the Nautilo line, and that the company moved its headquarters to Switzerland in 2013. The brand presents Nautilo as a continuation and reinterpretation of its professional-diver watches. Anonimo’s brand history provides that account.
How does the Anonimo Nautilo Vintage wear?
In his June 28, 2019 hands-on review, Andreas Ahrens of Fratello said the Nautilo Vintage looked larger than its 42 mm diameter because of its cushion profile and relatively thin bezel. On his 19 cm wrist, he reported that it rested comfortably. That is one reviewer’s fit impression, not a guarantee: case shape, wrist shape and personal preference all affect how a watch wears. If possible, try one on rather than judging by diameter alone. Read Ahrens’s hands-on review.
#1 Best Overall
- Silver tone 49mm stainless steel case with mineral glass crystal, silver tone top ring, date at 4 o'clock.
- Blue dial with date at 4 o'clock; hands with luminous infill
- Adjustable stainless steel bracelet and 22x20mm blue silicone strap fits up to 8-inch wrist circumference
- Screw down case back; screw down crown
- Water-resistant to 100m (330ft)
Ahrens praised the brushed steel surfaces, polished accents, crown guard and overall detailing. He found the bracelet comfortable and robust, but noted that the polished center links add shine and that some other bracelet designs integrate more closely with the case. He also liked the dial variants and luminous details, while observing that the attractive dial design does not improve legibility. Those judgments reflect his review, not universal wearer experience.
Is the Nautilo Vintage a good dive watch?
It has meaningful dive-watch specifications: Anonimo’s 2019 launch information lists 200 m/20 ATM water resistance, a unidirectional rotating bezel with a graduated ceramic insert, a screw-down crown and caseback, and luminous hands and indices. The crystal is anti-reflective sapphire. These features make it a capable-looking sports diver on paper, but they do not establish independent certification to a dive-watch standard.
Rank #2
- Round watch featuring logo at 3 o'clock and stick hands and indices
- 37 mm stainless steel case
- Quartz movement with analog display
- Five-link, leather, or fabric band featuring fold-over clasp with single push-button safety or buckle closure
- Water resistant to 100 m (330 ft): In general, suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not scuba diving.
The key practical compromise is the bezel. Ahrens noted that it lacks a minute scale and concluded that other watches serve better as diving instruments. For a watch whose primary job is to time a dive, an easy-to-read elapsed-minute scale and clear underwater legibility matter more than a polished design. The Nautilo Vintage makes more sense if you value its elegant, vintage-inflected character and want diver-style specifications alongside that look.
What movement is in the Anonimo Nautilo Vintage?
The Nautilo Vintage uses the automatic Sellita SW200-1. Anonimo’s 2019 launch specification gives it a 38-hour power reserve and date display at six o’clock. The movement is visible through a transparent caseback and has an Anonimo-personalized oscillating weight. Anonimo’s current Nautilo collection page also identifies the SW200-1 as the line’s movement.

Prices depend on date, location, configuration, taxes and availability. Anonimo’s March 2019 announcement listed CHF 2,290 for the blue-dial launch model on leather. Fratello recorded launch-era prices of €2,190 on leather and €2,470 on bracelet. Who should consider the Nautilo Vintage?
- Consider it if you want a distinctive cushion-case sports watch, appreciate its vintage-inflected styling, and value a 200 m published rating alongside a mechanical movement.
- Look elsewhere if your priority is instrument-first dive timing, especially a bezel with a clear elapsed-minute scale or evidence of independent dive-standard certification.
- Try it on if wrist presence is a concern: the single hands-on reviewer found it looked larger than 42 mm, despite reporting comfortable wear on his own 19 cm wrist.
- Verify before buying used if strap fit, condition, service status or water use matters; specifications for the model cannot confirm the state of an individual watch.
