The d.m.h. Jump Hour is a small-batch, made-to-order jumping hour watch from Dutch watchmaker Fred Dingemans. In Robin Nooy’s 15 October 2024 hands-on report, it combines a refurbished vintage automatic movement with a blue, partly open dial and a distinctive disc-based time display. The specifications, price and ordering details below describe the version covered in that dated report.
How the d.m.h. Jump Hour display works
Instead of a conventional hour hand, the watch shows the hour on a disc. A separate revolving disc indicates the minutes, while a central hand tracks seconds. As the minute disc completes its rotation, the hour disc jumps forward. Nooy reports that the time is read where the hour and minute discs meet the central axis of the seconds hand.
The 2024 watch has black hour and minute discs with white numerals set against a blue lacquered dial. Part of the movement remains visible, and an opening in the dial reveals the date disc. Dingemans can configure the dial cut-outs, including how much of the date wheel is exposed.
What the 2024 version is made of
According to Nooy’s 2024 report, the brushed stainless-steel case measures 39.6 mm across and 12 mm high. It has a front-loading construction, sapphire crystals on the front and back, and wire lugs that can be removed with screws. The crown uses a distinctive locking arrangement. The reported water resistance is 30 m.

Dingemans makes the case, lugs and dial components in his workshop. The dial is blue lacquer, with an orange-lacquered central seconds hand. The reported strap choices are leather or rubber, each with a pin buckle; the report does not specify a lug width or strap compatibility dimensions.
Movement and reported specifications
The 2024 article identifies the automatic movement as a Tenor Dorly 1376 series calibre, described as new old stock and fully refurbished. It reports 17 jewels, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and a maximum running time of 48 hours. The rotor is signed d.m.h.

A 2010 Monochrome article describes an earlier d.m.h. jumping-hour watch with a 40 mm case, 50 m water resistance and a titanium dial.
