The roulette complication: an animation, not a gambling instrument
The feature that distinguishes the Casino from other Astronomia variants is its miniature roulette wheel. Pressing the side-mounted pusher starts the on-demand sequence. The exact pusher position has been reported differently—at 7 o’clock by Monochrome and at 8 o’clock by Deployant—so it is safer to describe it simply as a side-mounted pusher unless discussing a specific reference or image.
Published coverage describes a functional miniature roulette wheel with numbered red, black, and green pockets and a ceramic ball that bounces around the wheel. The wheel is not continuously running. It is an occasional mechanical performance triggered by the wearer or presenter.

JCK reports that the wheel is made from rose gold and lacquer, with an aventurine center. A sapphire barrier covers the roulette assembly and keeps the ceramic ball from entering the movement. Buyers were also reportedly able to personalize the wheel with a lucky number, although configuration and availability should be confirmed for the exact reference.
“Functional” needs careful interpretation here. The wheel physically performs a roulette-style animation, but the available evidence does not establish it as an independently random number generator or a real gambling game. It is best understood as a miniature mechanical spectacle built into a wristwatch.

Development and finishing
The Casino’s unusual construction required more than simply adding a roulette wheel to an existing movement. JCK reports that development of the roulette animation took more than a year. The same report says the surrounding specialized sapphire required more than 60 hours of machining, polishing, and finishing.
Those are reported production claims from JCK’s 2020 coverage, not independently verified laboratory measurements. They nevertheless explain why the watch’s price cannot be compared directly with that of a conventional tourbillon using a smaller case and standard crystal.
The diamond is another distinctive component. Both Monochrome and JCK describe a one-carat, proprietary 288-facet Jacob-cut diamond. Its rotation, alongside the blue globe and tourbillon, gives the Casino much of its visual identity when viewed through the sapphire enclosure.

Wearability: spectacular, but exceptionally large
At 47 mm wide and 27.9 mm thick, the Astronomia Casino is enormous by ordinary wristwatch standards. The height is particularly consequential: this is a watch that can be difficult to conceal beneath a sleeve, and it will dominate the wrist even before the moving display is activated.
Deployant notes that sharply downturned, relatively short lugs help keep the case on the wrist. That is useful practical context, but it is an independent reviewer’s assessment rather than a formal manufacturer specification. Fit will depend heavily on wrist shape, strap adjustment, and tolerance for a tall case.

The described configuration also has no conventional crown visible on the case side. Deployant reports that winding and time-setting are carried out using two keys on the solid caseback. That arrangement suits the Astronomia’s architecture, but buyers should confirm the caseback hardware for the particular reference they are considering rather than assuming every current Casino variant is identical.
The 30-meter water-resistance rating should also be treated conservatively. It does not make the watch suitable for swimming, diving, or casual exposure to water, especially given the complexity of the movement, the sapphire architecture, and the precious materials.

Price: historical reference versus current catalog pricing
The price depends on the reference, configuration, market, and date. The commonly cited AT160.40.AA.AA.A version was listed at USD 620,000 in Monochrome’s 2020 hands-on specification.
That should not be presented as the current U.S. price. As of August 12, 2026, Jacob & Co.’s current online catalog lists Astronomia Casino variants from USD 682,000 to USD 968,000:

Monochrome and JCK identify the principal Casino version covered in 2020 as limited to 88 pieces. That count applies to the AT160.40.AA.AA.A reference discussed in the detailed 2020 specification; it should not automatically be applied to every watch carrying the Astronomia Casino name.
