Its layered NORTEQ composite, rubber and titanium construction weighs 78g, while a COSC-certified automatic movement, 200m water resistance and open-worked dial make it more than a color exercise.
What makes this Purple edition different?
NORQAIN announced the Wild ONE Skeleton 42mm Purple Limited Edition in Japan in October 2025. It is limited to 400 pieces. The purple treatment changes the watch’s visual character, but the edition retains the layered case construction and movement platform of the Wild ONE Skeleton rather than introducing a new architecture or caliber. NORQAIN Japan’s launch announcement gives the Japanese launch price and weight; Monochrome’s launch coverage identifies the reference as N3000.07Q26.B23.R01.
How the layered case is built
The case combines a black NORTEQ carbon-fibre composite cage with a purple rubber shock absorber around a titanium inner container. That construction is the defining visual and physical feature: the purple is not simply a dial color, but part of the layered case-and-strap presentation. NORQAIN Japan reports a total weight of 78g. The open-worked dial exposes darkened bridges, with purple or lilac accents and Super-LumiNova details. It gives the watch a technical, high-contrast look, though the skeletonized layout is a deliberate stylistic choice rather than a conventional, uninterrupted dial.

Fit, dimensions and everyday wear
The case measures 42mm across, 49.4mm from lug to lug and 12.3mm thick. It has sapphire crystals, a screw-down crown and 200m water resistance. The purple rubber strap is curved at the ends and 22mm wide. Listings describe either a pin buckle or a folding clasp, depending on market and configuration. Fratello Watches and Monochrome
Is the 42mm Wild ONE too large?
Diameter alone does not settle the fit question: the 49.4mm lug-to-lug span is a useful companion measurement, and wrist shape and personal preference still matter. The 12.3mm thickness and curved strap ends are also relevant to how it sits. Michael Stockton, writing for Fratello after a week with the watch, reported that it was comfortable; he wore it on errands and hardly noticed it under a sleeve. Movement and legibility
The movement is NORQAIN NB08S, an automatic caliber based on the Sellita SW200-1. It is COSC-certified and has a stated 41-hour power reserve. The skeletonized display puts the movement on show while retaining hands and luminous details for reading the time. Who is this watch for?
The Purple is a strong fit for someone who wants a lightweight, technically constructed sports watch and sees the vivid case-and-dial treatment as a feature, not a compromise. Its 200m water resistance and screw-down crown support a sports-watch brief, while the open-worked dial and purple accents keep the design conspicuous. If a quieter look is the priority, the Purple’s color is the main trade-off; if a smaller case is the priority, NORQAIN also has a separate 39mm Purple Ice Blue Wild ONE variant, which is not this 42mm edition.
