The Undone Urban Automatic is a vintage-inspired mechanical watch with a triple-calendar display, offered in two colorways: Sandstorm and Eclipse. In Jorg Weppelink’s 2024 hands-on review for Fratello, the beige-and-red Sandstorm reads as the more vintage option, while the black-and-orange Eclipse feels more contemporary. The two versions share the same reported case and movement specifications.
Two colorways, two different moods
Undone presents the Urban Automatic in Sandstorm and Eclipse. Both have vertically brushed dials, textured outer rings and sub-dials, steel markers, luminous hands, and a domed sapphire crystal. Their color and strap choices give them distinct personalities.

Those descriptions are the reviewer’s subjective impressions, not measured differences. The available specifications do not indicate a functional distinction between the variants. The official UNDONE Japan product page also identifies Sandstorm and Eclipse as the two styles.
Case size and construction
Fratello reports a stainless-steel case measuring 40 mm in diameter, 47.8 mm from lug to lug, and 14 mm thick including the domed sapphire crystal. The lug width is 20 mm. The watch has an anti-reflective coating on the sapphire, a sapphire exhibition case back, and a stated water-resistance rating of 100 m / 10 ATM. UNDONE Japan corroborates the 40 mm case, sapphire crystal, and 100 m / 10 ATM rating.

Weppelink says the curved case helped both versions sit comfortably on his 18.5 cm wrist despite the 14 mm thickness. He also noticed some image distortion through the curved crystal, which he considered part of the vintage character. These are his wearing and visual observations, not independently reproduced fit or optical tests. The reported 20 mm lug width may be useful when considering another strap, but check the actual attachment and dimensions before buying a replacement.
Triple-calendar display and Miyota movement
The Urban Automatic is the Urban collection’s first mechanical model, according to Fratello’s October 2024 review. Its Miyota 9122 automatic movement powers a triple-calendar display: day and month appear on sub-dials, while the date is shown in a window. The review lists hand winding, hacking, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, 26 jewels, and a 40-hour power reserve. UNDONE Japan confirms the Miyota 9122 and the day and month sub-dials.

How the calendar controls work
As described by Weppelink, the crown sets the day, date, and time. A separate pusher at 2 o’clock advances the month indicator by one month with each press. He found the crown clicks clearly defined and easy to use. In his review, the month pusher felt less reassuring: it did not provide a firm confirming click, and the month hand wiggled when released before settling on its marker. That is his account of the watch he handled, not evidence that every example behaves the same way.
