What is the Hautlence Retrovision ’85?
Hautlence calls the Retrovision ’85 its Concept 2 and frames it as a watch shaped by 1980s design and a childhood dream of a Japanese transformable robot. The brand does not name a specific toy or franchise, and no licensing relationship is established. The earlier Retrovision ’47 drew inspiration from a vintage Bakelite radio; the ’85 takes a distinct robot-transformation direction.
Hautlence describes the piece as “Unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2025 and limited to just 8 pieces, RETROVISION 85 opens our Concepts line where no idea is too crazy and collectability starts at launch.” That is the brand’s promotional wording, not evidence of market demand or future value.
How does the watch transform?

The watch is therefore exceptionally wide on the wrist; its second configuration is a freestanding display object rather than simply a different dial presentation.

The case is titanium made using 3D printing, with partial copper-colored PVD coating. Hautlence specifies a beveled, extra-hard rectangular sapphire crystal with antireflective treatment, a black rubber strap, and a titanium pin buckle.
What movement and display does it use?
The automatic Calibre D31 combines a double-hairspring flying tourbillon with a wandering-hours display. Rather than using conventional central hour and minute hands, it shows minutes on a central disc while three rotating satellites indicate the hours. The tourbillon is prominently visible.

The dial assembly uses a frosted titanium base, a rhodium-plated brass intermediate dial with blue and purple PVD, and a sapphire minute disc with applied numerals and Globolight rings.
