Hermès introduced the Arceau Belles du Mexique in 2023. Its miniature-painted dial adapts a 2017 Hermès silk scarf depicting the Jarabe Tapatío, the Mexican hat dance associated with Jalisco. Seven of the 14 dancers rotate on free axes when the watch moves; the other seven stay in place.
What makes the Arceau Belles du Mexique distinctive?
The watch turns a scarf illustration into a kinetic dial scene. According to Hermès’ December 2023 release material, the composition shows 14 dancers rendered in miniature painting. Seven central appliqués are mounted on free axes and twirl with wrist movement, while seven surrounding figures remain stationary. The scene’s disc is ringed with 23 diamonds, and the white-gold bezel carries 82 diamonds. Hermès’ release page describes the concept through movement and rhythm.
The source of the imagery is a Hermès silk scarf design released in 2017. The dance depicted is the Jarabe Tapatío, often called the Mexican hat dance; Hermès’ release associates it with Jalisco. Europa Star’s November 30, 2023 feature also connects the watch to the scarf and dance.

A specification discrepancy worth checking
Not every published account gives the same case size or edition count. Hermès’ December 2023 release specifies a 38 mm case and an edition of 12. A Chinese-language report on Hermès’ 2023 Shanghai high-watchmaking exhibition instead lists a 39.5 mm case and 24 pieces. The exhibition report does not establish whether it refers to a distinct variant or contains a reporting error, so the available sources do not resolve the difference. The figures in the specification table follow Hermès’ release; verify the exact version and its documentation when evaluating a particular watch.

The documented color choices are orange and raspberry alligator straps. WatchPro’s January 2024 report says each color was issued as a numbered edition of 12 and reports a price of CHF 69,000 at that time. That is a historical reported price, not a current quote. Current retail stock and resale availability are not established here. For a purchase inquiry, check with Hermès or a reputable specialist and confirm the reference, edition documentation, condition and provenance. The published information does not indicate differences in movement or performance between the colorways.
