What is the Hermès Cut Le Temps Suspendu?
Le Temps Suspendu, French for “time suspended,” is a mechanical-watch complication that lets the wearer temporarily stop the displayed time and then resume it. Hermès introduced the Cut collection in 2024 and added the complication to the line in 2025, according to the brand’s official editorial page. That page also describes other versions, including a limited red-dial edition.

This is the Cut, not the separate Arceau Le Temps Suspendu. Hermès identifies the Arceau as a distinct design with a different case and an H1837 movement.
How does the time-suspension feature work?
Hermès says the seconds hand runs anticlockwise through a 24-second cycle. Pressing the control on demand freezes the hands at 12 o’clock; pressing again sets them moving. The effect is a deliberate, reversible display feature: it does not mean the watch has permanently stopped or ceased to be a mechanical timepiece.

The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie identifies the time-suspension module in the H1912 version as developed by Agenhor in Geneva. This attribution describes the module’s development, rather than a teardown of the watch.
