The Horage Lensman 2 Exposure pairs a mechanical GMT watch with an analog exposure reference built into its bidirectional bezel. Align an ISO value with a lighting icon and the dial indicates suggested shutter-speed and aperture combinations. It is a tactile aid for film and manual-camera users, not a substitute for a light meter: Horage’s manual says the calculation is based on an average.
How does the Horage Lensman 2 exposure bezel work?
- Rotate the bidirectional bezel until the camera’s ISO value lines up with the icon that best matches the scene’s light.
- Read the shutter-speed and f-stop combinations shown on the inner dial ring for that ISO and lighting category.
- Choose a setting that suits the subject and the photograph you want to make, then confirm exposure with your camera or meter when accuracy matters.
The interface covers sunny and overcast outdoor conditions, sunrise or sunset, indoor artificial light, ambient indoor light, and clear-sky nighttime conditions. Horage lists an ISO range of 25–12,800 and apertures from f/1.4 to f/22. Those markings describe the calculator’s range, not a promise that one suggested setting will suit every scene.
Horage’s Lensman 2 user manual states: “The calculation is based on an average calculation.” Light varies with direction, subject reflectivity, weather, and the photographer’s intended result. Treat the bezel as a quick reference or memory aid, especially useful for someone who enjoys setting exposure manually; use a dedicated meter or camera metering when the scene demands precision.
What else does the watch do?
The Exposure is also an automatic mechanical watch with a second-time-zone display. Horage’s K2 micro-rotor movement has an independently adjustable 24-hour GMT hand, set in one-hour increments. The manufacturer lists COSC chronometer certification, a silicon hairspring, escape wheel and anchor, and more than 72 hours of power reserve.

The camera connection is visual as well as functional. Horage says the case shape and dial layout draw on medium-format and SLR camera design. The case back bears the phrase “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” Horage presents this as a photographer’s slogan; no named author is established here.

The contrasting polished titanium outer structure and matte black inner case give the watch a layered, instrument-like appearance. Fratello’s 2023 launch coverage observed that the cushion-like case can wear larger than its diameter suggests; that is one publication’s impression, not a fit guarantee for every wrist.

Standard or Brian Griffin edition?
Horage describes the standard Exposure as an open edition available with a black or yellow dial and a rhodium-plated tungsten rotor. The Brian Griffin edition is limited to 100 pieces and changes both the materials and presentation.

Horage says Griffin-edition buyers choose among four curated photo packages. Current pricing and order availability for either Exposure edition are not established in the product information summarized here. Fratello reported launch-period figures in 2023, including an initial CHF 4,900 standard-edition preorder price; those are historical prices, not current offers.

Winding and care
According to Horage’s manual, the watch winds itself while worn. For a stopped watch, the manual gives two related instructions: approximately 20 clockwise turns as an initial step, and 30 or more full turns for an adequate reserve. The different counts describe separate guidance in the manual, rather than a single exact requirement.
- Keep the crown pushed in to preserve water resistance.
- Avoid strong magnetic fields and impacts or drops.
- If the watch is frequently used in water, Horage recommends checking water resistance every three years.
Horage also lists a 20 mm Lensman 2 rubber strap in black or yellow, with a proprietary deployant buckle and rubber-suede underside. Its sizing is listed as S/ML for 150–190 mm wrists and XL for 195–235 mm wrists. The displayed CHF 350 price is subject to change.
