Horage is an independent watchmaker based in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, whose pitch is unusually movement-led: it develops the K1 automatic calibre, the K2 micro-rotor and the K-TOU tourbillon, while offering watches across several styles and price points. Its own technical pages describe substantial in-house engineering and production, but the available evidence here is manufacturer-published rather than an independent test. For buyers, Tourbillon 2 is the clearest example to assess: Horage specifies a hand-wound COSC-certified tourbillon, 120-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance, with a listed starting price of 8,990 CHF. What is Horage?
Horage presents itself as an independent Swiss watchmaker headquartered in Biel/Bienne. Its history traces the idea for the brand to founders Andreas Felsl and Tzuyu Huang, who began discussing it in 2007. The first model, Omnium, debuted in 2009 with an outsourced movement. The company later developed its K1 automatic calibre; Jonas-K1, which Horage says was its first watch designed and engineered in Biel/Bienne, launched on Kickstarter in 2015 and eventually evolved into Array. The brand also names Autark and Solar Wind among later K1 models, and says Multiply was its first configurable watch. Horage’s company history
The proposition is a combination of independent-brand identity and movement development, rather than a single signature case or complication. Horage says design, engineering, sourcing, logistics, production and marketing are handled in-house, supported by a globally distributed team. Its About page describes its watches as 87% to 98% Swiss and says its movements reach a 98% Swiss Made valuation; these are the company’s own figures, not an independently audited assessment. Horage also explains that some dials carry “Hand Made” while “Swiss Made” is engraved on the movement. Horage’s company information
What is distinctive about Horage’s movements?
Horage’s central technical projects are K1, K2 and K-TOU. The manufacturer describes K1 as a modular “performance calibre” intended to combine complication flexibility with industrialized production. On its Watchmaking page, Horage lists 18 K1 base variations and five complication or hand-layout choices: small seconds, big date, small date, power reserve and three-hand. These details indicate a platform designed for multiple watch configurations; they are not a substitute for independent evaluation of accuracy, durability or service performance. Horage describes K2 as a micro-rotor movement with base profiles of 2.9, 3.3 and 3.6 mm and 38 variations. It also highlights K-TOU as its tourbillon project. The homepage has presented K-TMR as a future micro-rotor tourbillon calibre, describing a 3.6 mm thickness and a 72-hour power-reserve goal. A stated goal is not a confirmed specification for a finished production watch, so buyers should rely on the specifications of the particular model being offered. What Horage says happens in Biel/Bienne
Horage says engineering, research and development, machining and assembly take place at its Biel/Bienne facility. It states that its team is capable of producing more than 3,000 K1 movements per year. The company also says assembly begins at T0: watchmakers assemble jewels and other small components that may arrive preassembled from suppliers. These are useful descriptions of the brand’s stated manufacturing approach, but do not independently establish the production volume, sourcing, quality-control process or origin of every component. Which Horage watches are in the current collection?
Horage’s homepage has highlighted a varied lineup including Lensman 2 Global, Autark Tourbillon, Decaflux, Omnium K2 37mm, Revolution 3 MicroReg, Lensman 1.2, Autark K2 and Tourbillon 2. The range spans different movement concepts and designs, so the collection is best treated as a set of model-specific choices rather than one uniform watch. The homepage changes over time; confirm that a named model, configuration and delivery option are still offered before making a decision. Horage homepage
Tourbillon 2: a detailed example
Tourbillon 2 is the most fully specified example in the available material. Horage lists a 41 mm diameter, 39 mm case body, 47.8 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 22 mm lug width. Those figures help narrow down fit, but they cannot tell you how the watch will feel on your wrist; case shape, thickness, bracelet articulation and personal preference matter too. The cited product details do not state a case thickness. Horage Tourbillon 2 product page

- Escapement and hairspring: silicon, according to Horage.
- Jewels and frequency: 26 jewels and 3.5 Hz.
- Certification and stated accuracy: COSC chronometer certification; Horage gives the chronometer-standard range as -4/+6 seconds per day.
- Stated power reserve: 120 hours, or five days.

Dials, cases and strap or bracelet
Horage describes three dial directions: Grand Feu enamel, blue inspired by the Livre de Durrow, and limited meteorite. Case options include 904L stainless steel, 18k yellow gold and 18k white gold. The company says the meteorite dial uses a solid 0.8 mm piece of iron meteorite from a meteorite found in Sweden, with production limited to 25 examples of that version. Horage pairs the steel case with a 904L bracelet; gold versions use a salmon-skin leather strap and clasp with 7 mm micro-adjustment. A Horage model should be judged on its own specifications and intended use. Before choosing, compare the following rather than assuming that the brand’s movement story makes every model the right fit:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Movement and complication: identify whether the model uses K1, K2, K-TOU or another calibre, and whether its functions are useful to you.
- Fit: check diameter, thickness, lug-to-lug length, lug width and the available bracelet or strap. Try it on if possible; measurements alone do not establish comfort.
- Materials and design: choose based on the dial, case material and wearing style you prefer, not only on rarity or technical language.
- Intended use: compare the model’s stated water resistance with how you plan to wear it. A rating is not a promise that a watch is suitable for every water activity.
- Timekeeping evidence: distinguish a manufacturer’s specification or certification from independent testing of the exact model or an individual example.
- Ownership details: check current price, stock, warranty terms, servicing arrangements and service costs with Horage before committing. The cited pages do not establish warranty duration or service pricing.

What this review can—and cannot—establish
The available evidence is Horage’s own history, technical descriptions, homepage and model specifications. It supports a clear account of what the brand says it makes and how it positions its movements, along with the published specifications for Tourbillon 2. It does not establish independent movement testing, long-term reliability, customer experience, comparative value against named competitors or the fit and finish of a particular watch. No hands-on assessment is claimed here. That distinction matters: the technical proposition is compelling on paper, but a purchase decision should also account for the exact watch, its feel, current terms and evidence beyond the manufacturer’s descriptions.
