The Gerald Charles Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin Lapis Lazuli makes its case with a natural stone dial shaped to fit the collection’s unmistakably asymmetric steel case. That combination gives this limited edition a stronger identity than a routine blue-dial variant—but its official US price is $25,100 before sales tax, and the manufacturer’s specifications are not independent performance tests.

What makes this Maestro different?

Reference GC2.0-SSPS-LS-RSPN is a limited-edition version of the Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin. Gerald Charles calls it the first hardstone-dial watch from the brand and says lapis lazuli was Mr. Genta’s favourite gemstone. The reviewed official product page does not state how many pieces will be made.

The dial is the focal point: natural lapis lazuli, with a white printed minute track, luminous baton-shaped indices and a date display at 6 o’clock. It is paired with a blue-coated bezel and a royal-blue HNBR vulcanized-rubber strap. The strap has Clou de Paris texture on one side and the brand’s logo tapisserie on the reverse. These details are specified on the official product page.

Gerald Charles links the Maestro’s complex, asymmetric case to Rome’s Baroque architecture and presents the collection as an homage to the last original watch designed by Gérald Genta. Those are the brand’s design and historical claims; the case’s shape is the tangible point of distinction here, making the watch less conventional than a round steel watch with a blue dial.

How the stone dial is made, according to the brand

Gerald Charles says each lapis lazuli disc begins at 5 mm and is cut and polished to 0.55 mm. The shaped stone must follow the Maestro’s asymmetric outline, and the company says it discards many pieces because natural imperfections make them unsuitable. That is a notably demanding-sounding process for a fragile material, but it is the manufacturer’s account, not an independently documented production study.

Because lapis is natural stone, the dial’s appeal is not simply its blue color: the material itself can vary. The brand does not state how much variation buyers should expect between examples, so prospective owners should ask to see the specific watch where possible.

Case and movement specifications

The official product page lists a polished 316L stainless-steel case measuring 39.00 mm wide, 41.70 mm long and 8.70 mm thick, with a vertically brushed case back. Gerald Charles’s technical sheet gives 9 mm as the total thickness and 87.7 g as total weight; the product-page case thickness and technical-sheet total thickness are distinct published measurements and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Specification Manufacturer-published detail
Movement Automatic Swiss manufacture GCA2000; 3.7 mm caliber thickness; 189 components and 28 jewels
Frequency 28,800 A/h (4 Hz)
Power reserve 50 hours
Functions Central hours, minutes and seconds; date
Crystal Sapphire with internal and external multi-layer anti-reflection treatment
Case back Flat sapphire
Water resistance 10 ATM / 100 m
Shock resistance 5G; Incabloc anti-shock system
Warranty Two years, extendable to five years after registration with the Smart Warranty system

These figures come from Gerald Charles’s technical specification sheet and product page, not independent testing. In particular, a stated 10 ATM / 100 m rating is not by itself evidence that this particular watch has been independently tested as a dive watch. Warranty terms and registration requirements can change, so confirm them with the brand before purchase.

Price and regional context

At the time the official pages were accessed in 2026, Gerald Charles listed the watch in the United States at $25,100 before sales tax. The Japanese official store listed it at ¥4,576,000 including tax. These are regional page-listed prices, not verified transaction prices; availability and listed prices can change.

The US price is the clearest hurdle in the watch’s proposition. A buyer is paying for a distinctive case design, a natural hardstone dial and a manufacturer-described in-house movement, but the public information cited here does not establish resale value, long-term service costs or independent accuracy. Those should remain open questions rather than assumed benefits at this price.

Who is this watch for?

The Lapis Lazuli is most compelling for someone who specifically wants the Maestro’s sculptural case and a real stone dial, and who is comfortable with the fact that natural material brings individual variation. Its combination of stone, blue-coated bezel and rubber strap is coherent, though it will be a more assertive choice than a restrained steel dress watch.

The manufacturer lists useful everyday specifications—a 50-hour reserve, date and 10 ATM / 100 m water resistance—but they do not replace independent accuracy or durability evidence. The available product information also does not disclose the limited edition’s quantity. A buyer who prioritizes verified performance records, confirmed rarity or long-term ownership costs will need information beyond what Gerald Charles publishes on the cited pages.
