AXIA Time makes university- and team-specific watches intended to mark collegiate milestones, from campus traditions and graduation to championship seasons. The idea is clearest in its Indiana x Heisman watch for Fernando Mendoza: the design uses a football-pattern dial and inner-rim engravings to connect his Miami birthplace, Berkeley beginnings and Indiana achievement. These are commemorative products, not evidence by themselves of a watch’s durability or independent quality.
What are AXIA collegiate watches?
AXIA Time is a watch brand with university and sports- achievement designs. The company describes its university watches as keepsakes for moments such as acceptance, a first day on campus, graduation, alumni connections, family traditions and championships. That is AXIA’s stated purpose; it should not be confused with independent evidence about wearer sentiment or product performance.
The company says it works with over 50 universities and organizations, according to an AXIA release from December 2025. That is the brand’s own figure, not an independently verified count. Its December 1, 2025 announcement also named AXIA as the College Football Playoff’s official timepiece for the 2025–26 season, with CFP-branded and team-specific designs in its Argos and Lythos lines. The announcement applies to that season and does not establish a later partnership or current availability.
How the designs make a college milestone personal
Indiana x Heisman Argos
AXIA’s Indiana x Heisman collection includes an Argos Mendoza edition and a limited autographed box-set edition. The maker says the repeating football pattern on the dial represents teammates, coaches, family and fans. Engravings on the inner rim identify Mendoza’s name, Miami birthplace, collegiate beginnings at Berkeley and achievement at Indiana. The design turns a specific player’s path into the watch’s central story rather than relying on school colors alone.

AXIA presents Mendoza as the 2025 Heisman Trophy Award Recipient and features his testimonial: “This watch is fantastic, and it’s such a great honor to receive it.” This is a statement shown on the brand’s product page, not an independent product review.
Penn University Timepiece
The University of Pennsylvania’s Business Services office lists an AXIA Penn University Timepiece collection and says the watch carries Penn branding on its dial. This institutional listing is a useful example of a university-specific offering, but it does not state current price or inventory.

Ohio State championship memorabilia
In a February 4, 2025 release, AXIA described an Ohio State championship collection that included a Ryan Day autographed box set, watches and a pendant option. It illustrates a different commemorative approach: packaging a team achievement with signed memorabilia. Quantities and offer details in that release belong to that historical launch, not necessarily to current stock.
The Penn origin story behind AXIA
AXIA traces its origins to founder John Kanaras’s experience as a member of Penn’s 1988 Ivy League championship team. In the company’s account, Kanaras received a championship watch from the university, but felt it did not reflect the significance of the team’s journey and achievement. After years of looking for a watch that would, he created AXIA. This is the company’s own origin story.

Which colleges have AXIA watches?
The sources document Penn and Indiana examples, as well as the season-specific College Football Playoff and team collections announced for 2025–26. AXIA also announced planned licensed collections for the University of Florida, Brigham Young University, Texas Tech University and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The announcement does not verify that those collections are currently available.
For any other school, or for a current release at a named school, check AXIA’s current store and the university’s official merchandise channels. A school mentioned in an announcement is not necessarily a model that can still be purchased, and a listing alone does not establish current licensing.

What to check before buying
The examples establish school or team identity and some design details, but they do not provide a complete, comparable specification set across models. Before choosing a commemorative watch, verify the exact model’s details rather than assuming one AXIA collection shares another’s specifications.
- Official affiliation: Confirm that the specific model is currently licensed for the school, team or event.
- Watch specifications: Check case size, movement and materials on that model’s product listing; the cited examples do not establish these details across the range.
- Commemorative elements: Review dial branding, engravings, edition size and any included signed or other memorabilia.
- Purchase terms: Confirm current price, stock, seller authorization, warranty and return terms with AXIA or an authorized campus retailer. The available institutional Penn listing does not state price or inventory.
AXIA’s December 1, 2025 release quotes Ryan Allen Hall, Senior Director of Public Events and Sponsorships at the College Football Playoff: “The College Football Playoff is built on moments of dedication, tradition, and pride, and AXIA Time captures that spirit beautifully.” The quote reflects the partnership announcement, not an independent assessment of the watches.
