The Papar Anillo GMT puts its second time zone on a rotating 24-hour disc beneath a 24-sector cut-out dial, not on a conventional central GMT hand. Lex Stolk’s March 3, 2025 Fratello review found the display intuitive once he knew where to look, while flagging the small screw-down crown and a strap that needs breaking in. Papar lists a 36mm steel case and Miyota 9075 movement; its steel purchase page displayed an in-stock notification prompt when accessed on October 7, 2026.
How the Anillo GMT display works
Papar calls the Anillo its first watch. Its dial is formed from 24 laser-cut sectors, with a rotating 24-hour GMT disc underneath. A triangle on the disc points to the second time zone. This is a different visual approach from a conventional GMT watch, where a separate hand typically indicates the second zone.
The logo-like element at 12 serves as a day/night cue for the home time zone. Papar says the “moon” changes color through the day. Stolk described the disc display as readable and surprisingly intuitive once the wearer understands where to look, writing of it: “Once you know where to look, it works.”
Is the Papar Anillo a flyer GMT?
Yes. The Miyota 9075 is a flyer GMT: its local hour hand adjusts independently, allowing a traveler to change local time without resetting the other time zone. Fratello’s March 3, 2025 review reports that the movement also supports manual winding and hacking, runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), has 24 jewels, and provides a 42-hour power reserve. Those movement figures are from Fratello’s published specification table.

Case, movement and listed specifications
Papar’s official Anillo page describes the watch as designed in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The maker’s official steel purchase page and Fratello’s review broadly agree on the core dimensions and materials.

Two finishes, with different visual character
Fratello describes two initial finishes: bare steel and rose-gold PVD. Stolk judged the steel model higher in contrast and the rose-gold version softer in appearance; those are his visual impressions, not separate specifications. The published dimensions and movement are shared across the finishes in the sourced specifications.

Papar’s product page states an initial run of 100 numbered steel watches and 100 numbered rose-gold PVD watches. That is the stated initial run, not a count of current production or remaining inventory.
What the hands-on review says about wearing and operating it
The angular case is a matter of taste
Stolk characterizes the case as angular and brutalist-inspired, paired with a minimalist dial, and says the design may be an acquired taste. The 36mm diameter alone cannot establish how its angular shape will sit on a particular wrist; if possible, try it on and assess the case footprint and thickness in person.

The crown is the clearest handling drawback
The screw-down crown is small and octagonal. Stolk liked its appearance and proportions, but found it less pleasant to operate, particularly because using the GMT function means adjusting the crown more often than on a simple three-hand watch. In his words, “The small octagonal screw-in crown looks great and proportionally matches the watch. Operating it, though, is not the nicest horological experience.”
Allow for strap break-in
Stolk reports that the lined nylon strap may take time to break in and can initially push the watch away from its ideal position on the wrist. Quick-release spring bars make swapping straps easier. The specified width is 20mm; confirm that any replacement strap’s spring bars and buckle fit your intended setup.

Price and availability
Papar lists the steel Anillo GMT at $750 on its official purchase page. When that page was accessed on October 7, 2026, it displayed a prompt to request an email notification when the watch is in stock. This is a page observation, not confirmation that every finish or sales channel is unavailable; check Papar’s current listing for price and stock. The rose-gold page was surfaced at the same $750 price, but its current purchase page was not opened for this article. Shipping costs and return terms are not established here, so check them directly with the maker before ordering.
Who should consider the Papar Anillo GMT?
- Consider it if you want a compact automatic GMT with a distinctive disc-based display and value independently adjustable local time.
- Try it on first if possible if crown comfort, wrist fit, or a soft strap matters to you; the reviewer specifically notes the small crown and initial strap stiffness.
- Compare the finishes in person or in current product images if dial contrast and case color are decisive, since the steel and rose-gold impressions above are the reviewer’s judgments.
- Check the live purchase details for stock, final price, shipping and returns, all of which can change or depend on the buyer’s location.
