What sets L’Écume des Jours apart?
Czapek says the Promenade collection was introduced in 2024 and that L’Écume des Jours takes inspiration from Boris Vian’s 1947 novel. The dial translates that literary reference into specific details: a piano-key ring around the flange recalls the novel’s pianocktail, while a water lily on the seconds hand at 4:30 refers to Chloé’s fate.

The composition combines blue enamel, pearled mother-of-pearl and hand-painted jade. Czapek credits Donzé Cadrans with making the Goutte d’Eau enamel base and MD’Art with preparing recesses for the mother-of-pearl ring and jade disc; the components are hand-fixed. How does L’Écume des Jours wear and perform?
Czapek specifies a 38 mm stainless-steel case and automatic Calibre SXH5.1. The movement has a single barrel, a stated 60-hour power reserve and a recycled 950-platinum micro-rotor. Its seven skeletonised bridges draw inspiration from 19th-century Czapek pocket watches, with finishing visible through the sapphire caseback.

The official catalogue currently marks the 18-piece edition sold out. Which Promenade should you choose?
- Choose L’Écume des Jours if the literary concept, piano-key flange, water-lily seconds hand and combination of enamel, mother-of-pearl and jade are the main attraction—and you are prepared to verify whether a piece can be sourced.
