Use lug-to-lug to judge wrist span
Diameter describes the case across its face; lug-to-lug describes how far it extends from end to end. The latter is useful for judging whether the watch’s footprint is likely to sit within the top of your wrist. Thickness also matters to the overall profile, but none of these measurements establishes a universal wrist-size cutoff or guarantees a comfortable fit.
Try the exact reference if possible

How to find a replacement strap
For the cited steel reference, 20 mm is the official lug width, making “20 mm watch strap” a sensible starting search. Width alone does not prove that an aftermarket strap will fit: attachment style, end shape, hardware, and compatibility with the exact reference also matter. Tudor describes its own rubber option as form-fitted specifically for the Black Bay 58; do not assume a generic strap matches the case just because its width is 20 mm.
