Clean a Chopard Lucent Steel watch with mild liquid soap and running water only if the instructions for its exact reference confirm that it is water-resistant and Chopard’s cleaning conditions are met. Lucent Steel describes the material, not the watch’s water-resistance rating. If the rating or condition is uncertain, do not rinse it; ask an official Chopard service center for model-specific advice.
Check the exact reference before using water
Find the reference and check its guarantee certificate, instruction manual or official model page for the water-resistance rating and care instructions. Chopard’s home-cleaning guidance applies to water-resistant models; it is not a general instruction to rinse every watch made with Lucent Steel.

For example, Chopard specifies 30 metres of water resistance for the L.U.C XPS reference 168591-3001 on its product page. That figure applies to that reference only. Do not use it to infer the rating of another Chopard watch or to decide what aquatic activity is safe without checking that model’s instructions.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Clean a confirmed water-resistant watch
- Position the controls as instructed. Before cleaning, make sure the crown and pushers are pushed back or screwed down as appropriate for the model.
- Wash gently. Chopard directs owners of water-resistant models to use liquid soap and running water. Do not operate the crown or pushers underwater.
- Rinse after salt water. Chopard advises rinsing the watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water. Its FAQ says: “Always rinse your luxury watch with fresh water after being exposed to salt water.”
- Avoid chemical products. Chopard warns that chemical cleaners may damage the strap or bracelet and the gaskets that help maintain water resistance.
These are Chopard’s care instructions, not a substitute for technical service or a water-resistance test.
Adjust care to the strap or bracelet
Metal bracelet or rubber strap
Chopard’s L.U.C manual identifies metal and rubber as better suited to aquatic use than leather and fabric. That does not establish that a particular watch is safe to rinse: confirm its water resistance and follow its reference-specific instructions first.

Leather strap
Do not immerse a leather strap. If it gets wet, gently dab it with a soft cloth and let it dry away from heat and direct light.
Fabric strap
Chopard’s manual cautions that fabric, like leather, can deteriorate when exposed to liquids and cosmetics. Keep it dry and follow the care instructions for the exact model; do not assume that a water-resistant case makes a fabric strap suitable for rinsing.

Know when cleaning is not enough
A home rinse removes surface dirt; it does not check the seals or restore water resistance. Chopard’s maintenance service includes cleaning the case, metal bracelet and buckle, replacing gaskets and checking water resistance. Chopard says service and repairs should be handled by its official service centers.
- Arrange a water-resistance check annually, especially before prolonged or intensive aquatic activity.
- Have the watch checked after a violent shock, as Chopard recommends.
- If condensation beneath the glass persists, consult an official retailer or service center.
Do not open the case or attempt gasket replacement or technical repairs at home. Chopard’s guidance reserves service and repairs for its service centers.
