Yes—the Samsung Galaxy Fit2 can connect to an iPhone. For the most reliable current baseline, use an iPhone 7 or later running iOS 10 or later, install Samsung’s Samsung Galaxy Fit (Gear Fit) app, and begin pairing inside the app—not from the iPhone’s Bluetooth menu.
Be careful not to confuse the older Galaxy Fit2 with the newer Galaxy Fit3: Samsung lists the Fit3 as incompatible with iOS. The Fit2 also offers a more limited iPhone experience than it does with Samsung Galaxy phones.

What you need before pairing
- Samsung Galaxy Fit2 (model SM-R220), not Galaxy Fit3
- An iPhone 7 or later running iOS 10 or later as the conservative compatibility baseline
- The official Samsung Galaxy Fit (Gear Fit) app
- Bluetooth switched on
- A charged, powered-on Fit2
- The old phone, if the band was previously paired elsewhere
Samsung documentation is inconsistent across regions and product generations. Some broader legacy compatibility information mentions iPhone 5 and iOS 9, but device-specific Fit2 guidance and the current App Store listing point to iPhone 7 and iOS 10. Treat iPhone 7/iOS 10 as the safer minimum rather than assuming older hardware will work.
The app is intended for iPhone and is not supported on iPad or iPod touch. App availability and labels can vary by country and software version.

How to pair Galaxy Fit2 with an iPhone
1. Confirm that you have a Galaxy Fit2
Check the name on the band, packaging, or product information. Galaxy Fit2 compatibility does not extend to every Samsung fitness band. In particular, Samsung says the Galaxy Fit3 is not compatible with iOS.
2. Install the correct Samsung app
- Open the App Store on your iPhone.
- Search for Samsung Galaxy Fit (Gear Fit).
- Install and open the official Samsung app.
Do not rely on Samsung Health alone for initial setup, and do not assume Galaxy Wearable is the correct iPhone app for this band. The App Store listing identifies the Galaxy Fit/Gear Fit app as supporting the Fit2, Gear Fit2, Gear Fit2 Pro, Galaxy Fit, and Galaxy Fit e.
3. Turn on Bluetooth
On the iPhone, open Settings → Bluetooth and switch Bluetooth on. Keep the phone and band close together.

4. Start setup inside the app
- In the Samsung Galaxy Fit app, choose the option to connect or add a device.
- Select Galaxy Fit2 when it appears.
- Allow the app to search for nearby devices.
- Tap your Fit2 in the results.
Samsung’s iPhone-specific setup instructions use this app-led process. Menu names may differ slightly by region, app release, or firmware version.

5. Confirm the pairing request
Follow the prompt shown on the iPhone and band. You may need to tap Pair on the iPhone, verify a matching number, or tap OK or Confirm on the Fit2. Accept Samsung’s terms if requested.
6. Approve permissions
Allow the permissions needed for the features you want. Depending on the iOS and app versions, these may include:
- Bluetooth access
- Notifications
- Motion or fitness-related access
- Location or nearby-device access
- Background activity
Bluetooth access is required for communication. Without notification permission, alerts may not reach the band. Restricting background activity can reduce synchronization reliability. Not every permission appears on every iPhone.
7. Leave the app open during synchronization
Keep the iPhone nearby and leave the app open until setup finishes. The Fit2 may synchronize stored data or install a firmware update. Avoid closing the app or moving the band out of Bluetooth range during this first connection.
Should you pair the Fit2 from iPhone Bluetooth settings?
Use the Samsung Galaxy Fit app as the primary pairing route. Pairing the band manually in Settings → Bluetooth first can create a stale or incomplete connection that prevents the app from finishing setup.

If you already paired it from Bluetooth settings, recover by opening Settings → Bluetooth, tapping the information button beside the Fit2, choosing Forget This Device, and then restarting setup from inside the Samsung app. The App Store support guidance recommends removing an incorrect Bluetooth entry and resetting the wearable if necessary.

Connecting a Galaxy Fit2 to a different iPhone
Important: switching phones or resetting the Fit2 can erase information stored on the band. Sync anything that can still be synchronized before you reset it.
If you still have the old iPhone
- Open the Samsung Galaxy Fit app on the old iPhone.
- Disconnect or remove the Fit2 in the app, if that option is available.
- Open Settings → Bluetooth.
- Tap the information button beside the Fit2.
- Choose Forget This Device.
- Install the Samsung Galaxy Fit app on the new iPhone.
- Start pairing from inside the app.
If the old phone is unavailable
The Fit2 may need to be reset before it can be paired with another phone. Samsung states that connecting a Fit device to a different mobile device can reset it and delete saved data. Use the band’s reset option or follow the reset procedure in the Fit2 user manual, then repeat the app-led setup.
What works on iPhone—and what is limited?
The Fit2 can pair with an iPhone, but pairing does not mean feature parity with a Samsung Galaxy phone. Samsung’s Fit2 guidance specifically identifies some iOS limitations, including Quick Replies and Sleep Score.
Other behavior can depend on iOS permissions, the app and firmware versions, region, notification source, and background synchronization. Notification handling, sleep-related data, Samsung Health integration, firmware updates, customization, and find-device functions may therefore be more limited or less consistent than on Android.

- Store your favorite music on the GearFit2 or connect with Spotify to access millions of songs
Do not treat the Fit2 as an Apple Watch equivalent. It is an older fitness band, and its health measurements are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or clinical monitoring.
Galaxy Fit2 not connecting? Try these fixes
Work from the least destructive step to the most destructive. Do not reset the band until you have considered the data-loss warning.
- Charge and power on the band. Place it on its charger if necessary.
- Move the devices close together. Remove obstacles and keep other phones away temporarily.
- Toggle Bluetooth. Go to Settings → Bluetooth, switch it off, wait briefly, and switch it on again.
- Reopen the Samsung app. Start discovery from the app rather than Bluetooth settings.
- Check for another phone. The Fit2 may still be connected to its previous phone. Disconnect that phone or turn its Bluetooth off.
- Remove a stale Bluetooth entry. In Settings → Bluetooth, tap the information button beside the Fit2 and choose Forget This Device.
- Restart the iPhone. Then reopen the Samsung app and retry.
- Reinstall the Samsung app. This can clear a damaged app state, although you may need to grant permissions again.
- Reset the Fit2. Use this only when the previous steps fail or the app specifically requires it. A reset can erase data stored on the band.
Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance recommends reinstalling the wearable application and resetting the device when connection problems persist. If notifications fail after pairing, check notification permission for the Samsung app, notification settings for each individual app, Bluetooth status, Focus or Do Not Disturb settings, notification summary, and whether the Fit2 is still connected elsewhere.
Avoid assuming that force-quitting the Samsung app will always help. Repeatedly removing an app from the background can interfere with background synchronization on iOS rather than improve it.
If the Samsung app is missing from the App Store
Search for the full name, Samsung Galaxy Fit (Gear Fit), rather than only “Galaxy Wearable.” If it still does not appear, the iPhone or iOS version may not meet the listing’s requirements, the app may not be available in your App Store region, or Samsung may have changed distribution for this legacy app.

Galaxy Fit2 versus Galaxy Fit3
Galaxy Fit2 works with supported iPhones; Galaxy Fit3 does not. Verify the model before troubleshooting or buying a replacement. Samsung’s compatibility information lists the older Fit2 among its iOS-compatible wearables but identifies the Fit3 as incompatible with iOS.
Is the Galaxy Fit2 still sensible for an iPhone owner in 2026?
The Fit2 can still be reasonable if you already own one, have a compatible iPhone, need basic activity tracking and selected notifications, and accept legacy software and reduced iOS functionality.
It is a poor choice if you expect full iPhone integration, dependable long-term support for future iOS releases, messaging or notification behavior comparable to an Apple Watch, or a currently supported wearable platform. The Galaxy Fit3 is not an iPhone workaround. For deeper iPhone integration, an Apple Watch is the more natural ecosystem choice; a current iPhone-compatible tracker may also offer more dependable long-term support, but specific models and prices should be evaluated separately.
