On Android, the route to try is Galaxy Watch → Samsung Health → Health Connect → WeightWatchers. It works only if your current WeightWatchers app offers Health Connect and accepts the activity data you want to share; the connection is not documented as a universal Samsung integration.
Can a Samsung Galaxy Watch connect directly to WeightWatchers?
Do not assume that WeightWatchers can connect to the watch itself. There are several separate links in the process: Galaxy Wearable pairs the watch with your phone, Samsung Health receives and displays its activity, Health Connect shares permitted data between Android apps, and WeightWatchers must independently support and request that data.
WeightWatchers’ published U.S. device guidance documents Apple Health, Fitbit, and Withings, but does not clearly confirm a Samsung Health or Health Connect setup. Check the current WeightWatchers app for a Health Connect option before relying on this route. If it is absent, a Samsung Watch setting or a Health Connect reset will not create an integration. WeightWatchers’ device-sync guidance
What you need
- A compatible Samsung watch or fitness wearable paired to an Android phone in Galaxy Wearable.
- Samsung Health installed on the phone and showing the watch’s activity.
- Health Connect available on the phone. On Android 14 and later, it is available through Android settings; on Android 13 and earlier, Google says it may need to be downloaded from Google Play.
- The WeightWatchers Android app, signed in to the account you use.
- Permission to share the specific activity categories you want to try syncing.
Health Connect is an Android service, so it is not a solution for an iPhone-based setup. Device and feature compatibility can also vary by watch, phone, operating system, and region. Google’s Health Connect help · Samsung watch setup and compatibility support

How the Android data path works
The phone is the bridge; the watch does not send activity straight to WeightWatchers.
Galaxy Watch → Bluetooth and watch-phone synchronization → Samsung Health on your Android phone → permitted sharing → Health Connect → WeightWatchers permission → WeightWatchers app

- Pair the watch. Open or install Galaxy Wearable, turn on the watch, select it in the app, and approve pairing. Confirm that Samsung Health is installed. Galaxy Wearable is Samsung’s phone companion for connecting a compatible watch. Samsung Galaxy Wearable support
- Check Samsung Health first. Open Samsung Health on the phone and look for today’s steps or a recent workout. Refresh the home screen. Samsung says synchronization may occur when the watch reconnects, when Samsung Health is opened, or when its home screen is pulled down to refresh. If the activity is missing here, troubleshoot the watch-to-phone link before moving on. Samsung’s Health Connect setup and synchronization guidance
- Allow Samsung Health to use Health Connect. In Samsung Health, look for Settings → Health Connect (on some versions, open Menu or More options first). Choose Get started or App permissions, select the data categories to share, and allow them. Samsung documents the path through Samsung Health settings to Health Connect, where read and write permissions can be granted. Samsung’s Health Connect setup guidance
- Check Health Connect permissions. Open Health Connect → App permissions, select Samsung Health, and make sure the relevant categories—such as steps or exercise—are allowed. Google’s general path is Health Connect → App permissions → select app → enable data permissions → Allow. Google’s Health Connect help
- Look for Health Connect in WeightWatchers. Inspect the app’s activity or device-connection area; labels may resemble My Day → Activity → Connect your device or app or Devices. WeightWatchers has placed device controls in activity areas for some integrations, but its published guidance does not establish one universal Samsung menu path. If the app offers Health Connect, select it and approve only the relevant permissions. If the option is not there, stop: your app version, account, or region may not support this connection.
- Test a recent record. Use a walk or workout recorded after setup. Check that it appears in Samsung Health, then in Health Connect, then in WeightWatchers. Google says a connected app may access the previous 30 days of ordinary health data as well as new data, but the receiving app determines which data types it reads and how it syncs. Google’s Health Connect help
How to tell where syncing is failing
Check the same recent activity at each stage instead of changing settings everywhere at once.
- Samsung Health: Is the activity visible on the phone? If not, the issue is between the watch and Samsung Health.
- Health Connect: If the record is in Samsung Health but absent here, review Samsung Health’s Health Connect permissions and synchronization.
- WeightWatchers: If the record is in Health Connect but not WeightWatchers, check whether WeightWatchers has permission and supports that specific data type. Health Connect cannot make an app read a category it does not support. Google’s Health Connect troubleshooting guidance
What data might transfer?
Samsung documents Health Connect sharing for Samsung Health categories that can include steps, exercise sessions, exercise calories, distance, heart rate, sleep, weight, body fat, height, blood oxygen, blood pressure, and nutrition. What Samsung Health can expose is not the same as what WeightWatchers imports. The WeightWatchers app must support and request a category, and its treatment of activity is determined by its own features. For this connection, check specifically for steps and workouts rather than assuming medical, sleep, or body-composition records will appear. Samsung’s documented data categories

Why steps can be delayed or different
- Each handoff needs to sync. The watch must reach Samsung Health, which must share the record with Health Connect, which WeightWatchers must then read. WeightWatchers says device synchronization can take up to two hours in some cases; that is a possible delay, not a guarantee that every record will arrive. WeightWatchers’ sync guidance
- More than one app may record steps. A phone pedometer, Samsung Health, Google Fit, or another service may contribute records. Health Connect can combine data from multiple sources and use source priority when conflicts occur, so totals may differ from Samsung Health. Google’s Health Connect troubleshooting guidance
- Apps may count or group activity differently. Day boundaries, time zones, supported record types, and app-specific handling can affect what appears. Seeing a higher step count in Samsung Health does not prove that WeightWatchers has received the same record.
Troubleshoot in order
- Refresh Samsung Health. Open the app and pull down on its home screen; check that the watch is connected in Galaxy Wearable.
- Check Bluetooth and watch mode. Confirm Bluetooth is on and the watch is not in Airplane, Power saving, or Watch-only mode. These can interfere with synchronization. Samsung watch activity troubleshooting
- Update the apps. Check for updates to Galaxy Wearable, Samsung Health, Health Connect where applicable, and WeightWatchers.
- Review permissions on both sides. In Samsung Health settings, confirm Health Connect access; in Health Connect’s App permissions, check Samsung Health and WeightWatchers separately for the data categories required.
- Refresh Samsung Health synchronization. Samsung support describes turning on Sync with Samsung Cloud or the corresponding Samsung account sync control, then using Sync now where available. Labels vary by version; the phone and watch need to be connected through Galaxy Wearable. Samsung Health synchronization support
- Reconnect the watch only if needed. If Samsung Health still lacks watch data, follow Samsung’s pairing and synchronization troubleshooting rather than resetting Health Connect first. If a watch was set up without a phone, recent activity may remain on the watch until it is connected. Samsung Health and watch sync troubleshooting
- Contact the service that owns the failed handoff. Ask Samsung about activity missing from Samsung Health; ask WeightWatchers if Health Connect is absent or records in Health Connect do not reach its app. Avoid unofficial APKs.
- Use manual activity entry if needed. If a workout is visible in Samsung Health but the integration is unavailable, manual entry is more predictable than repeatedly resetting a working watch connection.
Privacy and permission choices
Grant only the categories needed for the feature you want to use, such as steps or exercise. Health Connect permissions are granular: connected apps can read or write only the data categories you authorize. Google says Health Connect stores data locally on the device, while connected services may retain copies of data they receive. Review permissions for both Samsung Health and WeightWatchers if you stop using the connection. Google’s Health Connect privacy and permission information

When to use another method
- Try Health Connect if you already use an Android phone, Samsung Health reliably shows your activity, and WeightWatchers offers Health Connect in the current app.
- Use manual entry when the integration is missing, the workout type is unsupported, or you need to record activity without waiting for a connection.
- Consider a natively documented WeightWatchers option if you need a simpler or more dependable sync and are choosing a device or service. WeightWatchers’ published guidance retrieved here describes Apple Health, Fitbit, and Withings workflows; check current in-app availability before making a purchase. WeightWatchers’ device-sync guidance
- Treat third-party bridge apps as a last resort. A bridge adds permissions, another synchronization step, possible duplicate records, and a separate support chain. Do not assume it will solve the problem unless it supports the exact Samsung Health-to-Health Connect data flow and WeightWatchers can read those records.
