Pixel Watch 4 lets you create a watch face from a text or voice description, choose a visual style, and apply one of the generated designs. You can start on the watch or in the Google Pixel Watch app. The feature requires an internet connection and a personal Google Account with Gemini enabled. Google documents the flow for Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Watch 5.
Before you start
- Use a Pixel Watch 4 or Pixel Watch 5.
- Connect to the internet and sign in with a personal Google Account that has Gemini enabled.
- Google may update app or watch software, so button names and screens can vary slightly.

Create an AI watch face on the watch
- Long-press the current watch face.
- Swipe from right to left to Add new Image, then tap Image.
- In the watch-face gallery, tap Create.
- If prompted, review and accept the Create My Widget terms.
- Enter a description using the keyboard or voice input, then choose a visual style.
- Select one of the generated options to apply it as your watch face.
Create a face in the Pixel Watch app
- Open the Google Pixel Watch app on your phone.
- Tap Watch faces, then Create.
- Follow the prompts to describe the design and choose a visual style.
- Tap Add to watch to apply the selected design.
Both routes let you describe a design and choose a style. On the watch, you apply a generated option there; in the phone app, use Add to watch. Google does not state that one route produces better results.

Customize the face after creating it
Depending on the face’s available settings, adjust its color and layout, then choose complications. Complications are small information displays on the watch face; examples include weather and step count. Their availability and appearance depend on the selected face and settings.

Use personal photos instead of AI generation
If you want your own pictures on the watch, Google’s separate Photos watch face supports up to 30 selected personal photos. This is a different personalization option from generating a design with an AI prompt.
