A face that appears on a Pixel Watch is not automatically compatible with every Wear OS device; Google Play filters face availability by the selected watch.
You can start from the watch, an Android phone, or a computer. If the face is missing or the install option is unavailable, check that you selected the right watch and treat the result as a compatibility limitation rather than a reason to seek an unofficial copy.
Ways to install a watch face

Google says Play displays and makes available for download only faces compatible with the selected device. Its instructions can vary by device and software version. Google’s Wear OS watch-face guidance also explains that some older faces may no longer be available or transfer to a new watch.
Install from your watch
- Wake the watch and open its app list.
- Open Google Play Store.
- Browse the watch-face category or search for the face by name.
- Open the listing and follow the on-screen installation instructions.
- If Play does not offer installation, check the listing from another route with the intended watch selected.
Google says Play Store apps on a watch require Wear OS 2 or newer. That minimum does not guarantee that a particular face will work: the face’s listing and the selected device determine availability.

Install using a phone or computer
- Open Google Play on your Android phone or computer and find the face.
- Choose Install.
- If a device selector appears, select the watch you want to use.
- Complete the prompts shown by Google Play.
On a phone, the Watch apps or Watch faces category can help you find faces. If the phone has more than one watch or device associated with it, check the destination before installing. On a computer, use the device chooser on the Play listing.
Choose and customize the face
After installation, use the watch’s face-selection interface to select the new face. The exact controls vary by manufacturer and software version. On Pixel Watch, Google describes Google Pixel Watch Faces as a collection users can organize and customize on the watch; do not assume that another manufacturer uses the same selection flow.

Troubleshoot a missing face or install option

Google’s guidance does not promise that a face removed from Play can be obtained safely or supported from another source. Use the current Play listing as the compatibility check.
FAQ
Can I install Pixel Watch 4 faces on any Wear OS watch?
No. The face must be offered for your specific watch in Google Play. A Pixel Watch face’s availability on one device does not establish compatibility with another.

Why can’t I install a face I can see in Google Play?
The listing may be visible while the selected watch is not eligible for installation. Check the device selector and view the listing with your intended watch selected.
Can I install a face on a watch running an older version of Wear OS?
Google says a watch needs Wear OS 2 or newer to use Play Store apps. That is a general Play Store requirement, not a guarantee that a specific face supports your watch.

Will my old watch faces transfer to a new watch?
Not always. Google says some older faces may no longer be compatible or available and may not transfer when setting up a new watch or restoring a backup.
Can I download a face that Google removed from Play?
Google says faces that do not meet its quality standards are not available for download from Google Play. Check for a supported alternative rather than assuming an unofficial source is safe or will work.
What to do next
Search Google Play from your watch, phone, or computer, and select the watch you intend to use. Install the face only if Play offers it for that device. If it does not, check for another face that is currently listed as compatible.
