Apple’s iOS 18.6.1 release notes describe a redesigned Blood Oxygen experience for users in the United States with Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, or Ultra 2. Update the paired iPhone and supported watch to the latest software, then look for Blood Oxygen on the watch; for this experience, measurements are calculated on the iPhone and viewed in the Health app.
Check whether your watch is eligible
Apple names these models for the new U.S. experience in its iOS 18.6.1 release notes:

The broader model list in Apple’s Blood Oxygen app guidance should not be taken to mean every supported model receives the specific new U.S. experience. Check your model, region, and software eligibility.
How to enable and use Blood Oxygen
- Update your devices. Update the paired iPhone and supported Apple Watch to the latest software available for them.
- Find the app. Look for Blood Oxygen in the apps on your Apple Watch. If it is not visible, search for it in the App Store on the watch. If you deleted it, reinstall it there.
- Prepare for a reading. Wear the watch snugly but comfortably. Keep your wrist flat with the watch display facing up, and rest your arm on a table or in your lap.
- Take a measurement. Open Blood Oxygen, tap Start, and hold your arm steady for 15 seconds.
Apple notes that a reliable measurement is not guaranteed every time, even under ideal conditions.

Where to see your results
On the paired iPhone, open Health > Search > Respiratory > Blood Oxygen. For the new experience described in the iOS 18.6.1 release notes, measurements are calculated on the iPhone and viewed in Health.
Apple Support says the Health app provides daily, weekly, monthly, and six-month chart views, with filters for measurements taken during sleep or at high elevation.

Can iOS 18.6.1 add Blood Oxygen to any Apple Watch?
No. Apple’s release notes name U.S. users with Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Ultra 2 for the new experience. General Blood Oxygen app support has a broader model list, but that does not establish eligibility for this specific experience.

What should I do if the Blood Oxygen app is missing?
Check that the watch model and region are supported and that your devices have the latest software. Search for Blood Oxygen in the App Store on Apple Watch; if you deleted the app, reinstall it there.
Where are Blood Oxygen results calculated and displayed?
For the new iOS 18.6.1 experience, measurements are calculated on the paired iPhone and viewed in the Health app under Search > Respiratory > Blood Oxygen.

How do I improve the chance of getting a reading?
Wear the watch snugly but comfortably, keep the wrist flat with the display facing up, rest your arm on a table or in your lap, and stay still for the 15-second measurement. Apple says a reliable result is not guaranteed every time.
Are Apple Watch Blood Oxygen readings for medical use?
No. Apple says the measurements are intended only for general fitness and wellness, not medical use.
