If your Casio’s digital time is correct but its hands point to a different time, use the watch’s hand alignment or home-position adjustment procedure. The button sequence depends on the module number on the case back, so follow the manual for your exact module rather than trying a generic reset. If the digital time is wrong too, check the Home City or daylight saving time (DST) setting before adjusting the hands.
First identify which time display is wrong
Compare the analog hands with the digital time while the watch is in Timekeeping Mode. The symptom determines what to check:

- Digital time is right; hands are displaced: the hands may need alignment correction.
- Digital time is wrong by hours: check the Home City or time-zone setting.
- Digital time is wrong by one hour: check whether DST is set correctly for your location and date.
Casio lists strong magnetism and impact as possible reasons the hands can stop agreeing with the digital display. Its troubleshooting guidance treats a hand mismatch differently from an incorrect digital hour or a one-hour DST error. See the [module 5736 guide] and [module 5611 troubleshooting guide].
Find your watch’s module number
Look for the module number on the case back, then open the corresponding operation guide through CASIO Support. The module number matters: models can use different entry indicators, button-hold times, controls, and adjustment stages. Some adjust only the hour and minute hands; others handle a second or function hand separately.

- RETRO 1980s-INSPIRED ANALOG-DIGITAL DESIGN The Casio AQ-800E-7A reimagines the iconic AQ-450 design from the 1980s with a modern vintage aesthetic. A separate analog dial and LCD display combine classic watch styling with convenient digital functionality, while the grid-pattern dial, simple bar indexes, and angular case create a distinctive retro look.
- SLIM, LIGHTWEIGHT CASE WITH STAINLESS STEEL BAND Measuring 40.7 × 32.1 × 8.7 mm (L × W × H) and weighing 52 grams, the AQ-800E-7A has a slim profile designed for comfortable everyday wear. The case features a resin/chrome-plated construction and resin glass, while the stainless steel band with adjustable clasp fits approximately 150–205 mm wrists.
- DUAL TIME & 1/100-SECOND STOPWATCH Keep track of another time zone with the Dual Time function, while the 1/100-second stopwatch measures elapsed time with a capacity of up to 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds. These practical functions add versatility without taking away from the watch's clean vintage appearance.
- DAILY ALARM, HOURLY TIME SIGNAL & EVERYDAY CONVENIENCE Stay on schedule with a daily alarm and hourly time signal. The watch also features an auto-calendar, 12/24-hour format, and separate analog and digital time displays showing hour, minute, second, PM, month, date, and day.
- WATER RESISTANT & POWERED BY SR920W BATTERY Designed for everyday wear, the AQ-800E-7A features water resistance for routine situations such as rain and hand washing. A SR920W battery provides approximately 3 years of battery life, while quartz accuracy is approximately ±30 seconds per month.
Do not treat the examples below as interchangeable. Use them to recognize how procedures vary, then follow the guide for your own module.
Correct the hands using the module-specific procedure
Module 5736
In Timekeeping Mode, hold A for at least five seconds and release it when [0:00] starts flashing. Use B and D to align the hour and minute hands, then press A to exit. This sequence is specific to module 5736. For this module, Casio also documents hand alignment through CASIO WATCHES when the watch is paired with a phone. See the 5736 hand-alignment guide.

Check the display after adjustment
Exit the adjustment mode as your module’s guide directs, return to Timekeeping Mode, and compare the hands with the digital time again. Casio’s module 5161 guide says to check the analog display against the digital display after home-position adjustment and repeat the procedure if they still do not match. That guide also notes that hands may move after a manual digital-time change, time-calibration reception, or a Home City or DST change. If you need to set both displays manually on a 5161, set the digital time first. See the 5161 operation guide.
