Short answer: T-Mobile may cover an iPhone 16 through 24 monthly bill credits, but it is not free at checkout. You may still owe sales tax, a device connection or activation charge, and monthly service costs. The advertised Apple Watch discount is generally up to $300 off a second eligible Apple Watch—not $300 off one Apple Watch Series 10 purchased alone.
As of August 18, 2026, the iPhone and Apple Watch offers have separate eligibility rules. Your plan, trade-in, account type, sales channel, new-line or port-in requirements, and the exact watch configuration all matter.

How the T-Mobile iPhone 16 offer works
T-Mobile’s “On Us” wording usually means the phone’s installment payments are offset by promotional bill credits. For an iPhone 16 128GB priced at approximately $729.99 in T-Mobile’s current offer material, the credits may be spread across 24 months. The device is therefore potentially $0 after two years—not necessarily $0 when you place the order.

Which iPhone 16 promotion applies to you?
There is no single universal “free iPhone 16” deal. T-Mobile’s promotional database separates offers for existing customers, new customers, trade-ins, new lines, ports-in, and targeted accounts.
Existing T-Mobile customers
Sign in and check your exact line and plan before assuming you qualify. Confirm whether the offer requires an upgrade, a trade-in, an added voice line, or a particular rate plan. Also check whether the trade-in must be in good condition or whether an “any condition” rule applies to your specific promotion.
Customers switching to T-Mobile
Check whether you must port in an eligible number, activate a new voice line, use a particular qualifying plan, or purchase through a specified T-Mobile sales channel. Some promotions may also be limited to well-qualified customers or require financing through T-Mobile.
Business accounts
Business promotions are separate from consumer offers. T-Mobile’s business Apple deals may use similar language but can have different plans, account requirements, and connection charges.

Trade-in requirements to verify
Do not rely on a generic trade-in list or a headline value. Use T-Mobile’s live eligibility tool for the exact promotion and device. Check:
- Whether your model is eligible.
- Whether it must power on and have an intact display.
- Whether activation locks must be removed.
- Whether the phone must be paid off.
- Whether an “any condition” rule applies to this offer, rather than another targeted promotion.
- The deadline for returning the device.
T-Mobile may combine an instant trade-in value with promotional bill credits. Those are different components: the immediate value is not necessarily the same as the total 24-month subsidy.

How the Apple Watch “$300 off” promotion works
T-Mobile’s consumer Apple deal is generally a buy-two promotion:
- Purchase one eligible Apple Watch on a monthly payment plan.
- Purchase a second eligible Apple Watch.
- Add the required qualifying wearable line or lines.
- Receive up to $300 off the second, lower-priced eligible watch through 24 monthly bill credits.
The reviewed promotion identifies the Apple Watch offer as ID260368, promotion code R646, with credits of up to $12.50 per month for 24 months. That equals $300 when the full credit is received. The wearable line must remain active and in good standing, and eligibility can end if the line or account is canceled or the device is paid off early.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteDoes the Apple Watch Series 10 qualify?
Do not assume that every Apple Watch Series 10 qualifies. The current consumer terms reviewed describe an “eligible Apple Watch” and a “second eligible Apple Watch,” but do not clearly enumerate every Series 10 configuration.
Before paying, verify the exact:
- Case size.
- GPS or GPS + Cellular version.
- Color and configuration.
- First-watch or second-watch eligibility.
- Availability through T-Mobile’s current inventory.
The safest check is to add both watches to the same cart, add the required wearable line, and confirm that the promotion code and expected monthly credits appear before submitting the order. If the cart does not identify the Series 10 configuration as eligible, contact T-Mobile and obtain confirmation tied to the exact SKU.
What “save $300” really costs
If the second eligible watch costs $299.99 or less, the promotional credits could cover its device installments. If it costs more than $300, you pay the difference. In either case, you still pay applicable taxes and the cost of the wearable line.
For example, a qualifying wearable plan shown in the reviewed terms is at least $15 per month with AutoPay. At that rate, the line costs approximately $360 over 24 months, before taxes and fees. The exact plan price and AutoPay conditions must be confirmed at checkout.

That means the watch promotion is not $300 cash back and does not necessarily make the overall purchase cheaper. A practical break-even test is:
Net device benefit = watch discount − 24-month wearable-line cost − taxes and fees.
If you would not otherwise use cellular service on the watch, buying one watch outright—or choosing a GPS-only model—may be less expensive despite the advertised discount.

A T-Mobile-financed iPhone may remain carrier-locked until it is paid in full. Apple’s direct-purchase options are generally unlocked, although buying directly from Apple may not reproduce T-Mobile’s promotional credits. Compare the value of the subsidy with the cost of the required plan and the inconvenience of staying for the entire credit period. See Apple’s carrier-financing and unlock information for the relevant purchase path.
The deal may make sense if you already have a qualifying T-Mobile plan, expect to stay for 24 months, and genuinely need two cellular Apple Watches. It may be a poor fit if you may switch carriers, need an immediately unlocked phone, want only one watch, can sell your current phone for substantially more privately, or cannot afford the upfront tax and fees.

What to do if credits are missing
First, check whether two billing cycles have passed. Then:
- Compare the order confirmation with the stated promotion code.
- Check trade-in tracking and inspection status.
- Compare the device installment agreement with the promotional credit line.
- Confirm that the correct line, plan, port-in, and sales channel were used.
- Contact T-Mobile before canceling service, changing plans, or paying off the device.
Keep receipts, screenshots, tracking records, and chat transcripts. A failed trade-in inspection, an excluded purchase channel, an incomplete port-in, or a promotion that was never attached can all prevent credits from appearing.
Why older iPhone 16 headlines can be misleading
T-Mobile’s September 2024 iPhone 16 announcement advertised iPhone 16 “On Us” with qualifying trade-ins and up to $300 off a second Apple Watch. That announcement is historical; it does not by itself prove that the same offer or terms remain available in August 2026. Current account-specific terms control.
