Casio’s general guidance for a metal band describes using a soft toothbrush or similar tool with weak mild-neutral detergent solution or soapy water, then rinsing away the detergent and drying with a soft, absorbent cloth. Use that procedure only when it is appropriate for your watch. Check the operation guide for the exact model and module first; do not wash the case unless its guide permits it. If the watch is old, damaged, opened, or otherwise compromised, do not assume its water resistance is intact.
Why titanium G-SHOCK finishes need model-specific care
“Titanium G-SHOCK” does not describe one universal alloy or surface finish. For example, Casio’s GMW-B5000TCC-1 product description specifies TranTixxii titanium alloy, black ion plating, laser engraving, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inside surface. Casio says the alloy has roughly twice the surface hardness of conventional titanium; that is a specification for this named model, not a guarantee against scratches or a claim about every titanium G-SHOCK.

Casio also describes the GMW-B5000TCC’s pure-titanium screw-lock case back as DLC-coated for improved abrasion resistance, with a circular hairline finish. Plating, coatings, engraving, and brushed or hairline surfaces can look different from bare titanium and may respond differently to abrasion. Check the exact model’s product details and operation guide rather than assuming that another titanium model has the same materials, crystal, or care requirements.
What to avoid—and what to do about a scratch
Casio cautions against contact with thinner, gasoline, solvents, oils, fats, and cleaners, adhesives, paints, medicines, or cosmetics containing such ingredients because they can damage or discolor watch components. For long-term storage, its operating precautions advise wiping away dirt, sweat, and moisture, then keeping the watch in a cool, dry place.
