How to tell the time on the Secret Orbital
- Read the minutes: Follow the gear-driven indicator as it moves along its orbital path across the dial. Its position on the track conveys the minutes; it does not sweep around the dial like a conventional minute hand.
- Read the hour: Look at the separate rotating disc near six o’clock. That disc indicates the hour.
The two displays work together, but the orbital minute indicator is the part likely to take getting used to. The available sources describe the mechanism but do not provide an independent legibility test, so how quickly it becomes intuitive is a matter for the wearer.

The Secret Orbital’s defining idea is the visible motion of its minute indicator, not simply a different arrangement of standard hands. MandetBrote says the concept drew on everyday mechanisms including flip clocks, pendulums and factory machinery. The brand describes developing it through sketches of rotating discs and sliding blocks and says it brought the idea to life in 2023. The table value is shown above as the listed specification, but confirm the measurement with the seller or maker if case thickness is important to your decision. A 20 mm strap width is stated; the listing does not establish the attachment type or guarantee compatibility with every third-party strap.

Who the display may suit
The Secret Orbital is worth considering if you want the mechanics of timekeeping to be part of the dial’s visual interest and are comfortable learning a two-part display. If you prioritize an immediately familiar glance at the time, try to see the watch in person or study clear dial images before committing. The listed 50 m water resistance and other specifications should be treated as product claims, not evidence of independent durability testing or suitability for a particular water activity.
