To correct the time on a Fitbit, sync it with the Google Health app. If the time is still wrong, check the app’s time-zone setting, select the correct zone manually if needed, and sync again. The documented general procedure does not call for entering a date directly on the tracker.
Correct the time and time zone
- Open the Google Health app and sync your Fitbit. Google Health Help Center says, “Important: Sync your Fitbit device in the Google Health app to show the correct time.”
- If the displayed time is still wrong, open the app’s settings and select Date, time & units.
- Tap Time Zone. If Set Automatically is enabled but the time zone is incorrect, turn it off and choose the correct time zone manually.
- Sync the Fitbit again.
- If the time is still incorrect, log out of the app, log back in, and sync once more.
App branding and menu labels can vary across versions, devices, or account states, so the exact navigation may look different in your app.
Change only the clock format
If the time itself is correct but you want a 12-hour or 24-hour display, open Date, time & units in the app and choose Clock Display Time. Then sync the Fitbit. This changes the display format, not the time zone.

Can I manually enter the date on my Fitbit?
The documented general time-correction procedure uses the Google Health app and syncing. The help instructions do not document manually entering a date on the tracker.

Why is my Fitbit time still wrong after syncing?
Check the app’s Time Zone setting. If needed, turn off Set Automatically, select the correct zone, and sync again. If the problem persists, log out of the app, log back in, and sync.
How do I switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time?
In the app, open Date, time & units, choose Clock Display Time, select the format you want, and sync the Fitbit.

Use Google’s official sync troubleshooting instructions. If the device cannot sync, the app-based correction may not reach it.
