To set a watch’s second time zone, find the exact model or module number—often printed on the case back—and follow its official operation guide. Look for a mode called Dual Time or World Time, set the destination city or offset, then check AM/PM and the destination’s daylight-saving setting. Button sequences and supported offsets vary by watch.
Find the right setting for your watch
There is no universal sequence for setting a second time zone. The feature may be called Dual Time, World Time, or something similar; some watches let you adjust hours and minutes directly, while others use a city or UTC-offset list. Find the watch’s model or module number and consult its official guide. Casio explains that G-SHOCK instructions vary by model because watches use different modules, and directs owners to the relevant manual: Casio watch support.

Set destination time before you leave
- Identify the destination’s current time. Select its city if your watch offers one, or determine the current offset your watch requires. Confirm whether the city selection reflects the destination’s present daylight-saving status.
- Open the second-time display. Find Dual Time, World Time, or the equivalent mode in your watch’s guide.
- Set the destination time. Use the city/offset selection or adjust the time directly, following the model-specific controls.
- Check AM/PM and DST. Compare the displayed destination time with a trusted current clock before relying on it.
- Choose which time stays primary. Keep home time on the main display and destination time in the secondary mode if you want to coordinate with people at home while traveling.
If the watch uses a phone app to set cities or receive time information, check that the phone’s time and location settings are correct as well.

Casio module 3552
The 3552 guide’s example is to enter Dual Time mode, hold A for at least two seconds until the hour flashes, adjust the hour with B and D, press C to move to minutes, adjust the minutes, then press A to finish. The guide specifies 15-minute increments for the minute setting. That supports quarter-hour offsets on this module; it does not establish that other watches offer the same range or controls. See the Casio module 3552 operation guide.

Casio module 5692
The 5692 guide documents a separate summer-time control for the secondary zone: OFF means standard time and ON means summer time. Follow the guide’s procedure for this module rather than assuming the control exists on another watch. See the Casio module 5692 operation guide.
Casio module 5512
The 5512 guide describes setting World Time city information with a paired phone and receiving summer-time period information for the home and selected World Time city. With Auto selected, the watch can switch after receiving that information. The guide also warns that manually adjusting the watch can cancel automatic standard/summer-time switching. It describes setting the destination before travel and swapping origin and destination times after arrival. These features depend on the module and its configured phone/app support. See the Casio module 5512 operation guide.
Citizen F990
Citizen documents a distinct time-swap procedure for the F990 that involves crown position and simultaneous button presses. Use the Citizen F990 time-swap instructions for that movement; Casio’s button sequence is not a substitute.

Account for daylight saving and fractional-hour offsets
Check the destination’s current daylight-saving rule separately from the time-zone selection. A watch may require you to switch the secondary zone between standard and summer time manually; a phone-assisted model may receive summer-time period information and switch automatically if configured to do so. Do not assume that “automatic” works without the required phone connection, settings, or information transfer.
Some destinations differ from UTC by a fraction of an hour. The 3552 guide documents minute adjustments in 15-minute increments, but that is a module-specific capability. Other watches may offer only listed cities or whole-hour changes. Check the manual for the exact destination offset and adjustment increments your watch supports.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Make destination time the main display after arrival
If your watch supports a time swap, set the destination as the secondary time before departure, then use the documented swap function after arrival. The 5512 guide describes this origin/destination workflow. Other watches may have a different process—or no swap feature—so verify it in the relevant manual before traveling.

If you are choosing a watch for future trips
Compare the specific capabilities that affect how you travel, rather than relying on a feature name alone:
- Whether both times are visible at once or you must switch modes.
- Whether you select a city or can enter an offset directly.
- Whether the watch supports the destination’s fractional-hour offset.
- Whether DST is set manually or handled automatically, and what phone or synchronization setup automatic handling requires.
- Whether home and destination times can be swapped after arrival.
Confirm these features in the manual for the exact model. A label such as “dual time” does not by itself establish which cities, offsets, DST behavior, or swap controls are available.
