Standard analog watches are set with the crown, digital watches use controls that vary by model, and analog-digital models may require separate adjustments for the hands and digital display.
Do not assume one button sequence or crown position works for every Armitron. The matching manual is the safest guide, especially for watches with calendar windows or multiple functions.
Find the exact Armitron manual first
Armitron does not use one universal setting procedure for every watch. Before changing the time, date, alarm, or chime, find the style number on the case back.
- Turn the watch over and locate its six-digit style number. Armitron describes the format as two numbers or letters, a slash, and four numbers; the full marking may include additional characters.
- Record the number exactly.
- Open Armitron’s official manual page and search for the style number.
- Open the matching product page and look in its Specs section for the instruction manual.
- Use that manual to identify the correct controls and setting procedure for your watch.
If an older model’s manual is not available online, Armitron directs owners to its help center or customer support for assistance.

Find your Armitron model and official manual before changing settings.
How to set an analog Armitron watch
The crown is the small knob on the side of the case. On a standard analog watch without calendar windows, set the time by pulling the crown fully out, turning it until the hands show the desired time, and pushing it fully back in.
- Find the crown on the side of the watch.
- Pull it fully out without forcing it.
- Turn the crown until the hands show the desired time.
- Push the crown all the way back into the case.
- Check that the hands resume moving and that the crown is not left extended.
On watches with a date or day/date window, the crown may have separate positions for calendar and time settings. Check the diagram and instructions in the matching manual rather than assuming the first click sets the time.

How to set an Armitron digital watch
Digital Armitron watches use model-specific button labels and mode sequences. Do not assume that holding a particular button or cycling through modes works across the brand. Find the style number, open the matching manual, and follow its instructions for the time and calendar fields on your watch.

How to set an analog-digital Armitron watch
An analog-digital watch has physical hands and a digital display. On some models these are adjusted separately; for example, reproduced instructions for the AD1127 describe setting the hands with the crown and the digital time and calendar with buttons. Verify the procedure for your own style number in its matching manual.

- Use the model’s manual to set the digital time and calendar with the specified buttons.
- Set the analog hands with the crown if the manual calls for a separate hand adjustment.
- Compare the hands with the digital display.
- If the displays differ, check the model’s time and calendar settings before assuming the watch has a mechanical problem.
Troubleshooting and battery service
The buttons do not work as expected
Confirm that you have the manual for the exact style number and are following its button labels and mode sequence. Digital instructions vary across Armitron models, so do not keep trying a sequence from a different watch.
The crown does not set the time
If the watch has a date or day/date window, the crown may have separate positions for calendar and time settings. Consult the model’s diagram and instructions, and do not force the crown.
The digital display and hands show different times
Some analog-digital models require separate adjustments for the hands and digital display. Check the matching manual for the correct procedure for each display.

The watch will not keep time or the display is blank
A time-setting issue and a battery or service issue are different problems. Armitron says watch batteries typically last one to two years, depending on the watch’s functions, but a blank or unreliable display does not by itself prove the battery is the cause. Armitron recommends an authorized service center or a qualified jeweler/watchmaker for battery replacement; its FAQ says batteries are not covered by the limited lifetime warranty.
For service or replacement-part questions, consult Armitron’s official FAQ and support resources. No special tool or replacement part is needed just to follow the correct setting instructions.
