Apple’s September 9, 2025 event introduced four iPhones, three Apple Watch models, and AirPods Pro 3. The iPhone Air stood out for its thin design, while the Watch and AirPods updates emphasized health, fitness, connectivity, and battery life; whether the lineup lived up to Apple’s promotional “Awe dropping.” tagline is a matter of judgment, not a measured audience reaction.
This is a retrospective recap, not current availability or pricing guidance. Launch-period prices and product claims below are identified as historical or attributed to Apple.
What Apple announced on September 9, 2025
The event’s hardware lineup consisted of:
- iPhone 17
- iPhone Air
- iPhone 17 Pro
- iPhone 17 Pro Max
- Apple Watch Series 11
- Apple Watch SE 3
- Apple Watch Ultra 3
- AirPods Pro 3
Apple’s official August 2025 event notice used the tagline “Awe dropping.” Apple also presented the event as a hardware showcase spanning iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.
The opening verdict: was “Awe Dropping” justified?
The iPhone Air was the clearest design statement, while the iPhone 17 Pro models targeted people interested in advanced camera and video features. The Watch models and AirPods Pro 3 offered more practical updates for health, fitness, and everyday use. Those are product distinctions, not evidence of how viewers reacted to the event.

Apple’s claims should be read as manufacturer statements: the supplied sources do not establish independent comparative testing for the products’ performance or features.
Live-blog recap: the iPhone Air headlines the lineup

Apple’s September event followed its 2025 software announcements. The Associated Press described iOS 26 as bringing incremental AI advances and reported that promised Siri improvements had been pushed back. That was AP’s account at the time of the event, not a statement about subsequent software releases.

Final assessment: a broad lineup with a standout design
The event covered a wide range of Apple hardware, but its “Awe dropping.” tagline is promotional language rather than an independently verifiable measure of impact. The iPhone Air supplied a distinct design story, while the Watch lineup and AirPods Pro 3 emphasized health, fitness, connectivity, and everyday use. Apple’s specifications and comparisons should remain attributed to the company.
