On the analog Timex Legacy Day/Date covered by Timex’s instructions, pull the crown to its second position to set the date and to its third position to set the time. If your watch has a day display, set that at the third position by turning through full 24-hour cycles. Avoid changing the date between 10 PM and 2 AM, and push the crown fully in when finished.
Before you start: check which Legacy you have
Timex’s procedure applies to the analog Legacy Day/Date arrangement. “Legacy” is a collection name, not enough to identify every watch’s controls: Timex also lists a 34 mm Legacy quartz analog watch, while its 41 mm Legacy Day and Date model is identified as TW2V67800. If your display or crown positions differ, find the model number on the caseback and look up the matching instructions on Timex’s manual finder, which lets you search by watch name, product number, or feature.

Set the date
- Pull the crown out to the second position.
- Turn the crown in either direction until the correct date appears.
- Push the crown fully back in.
Do not set the date between 10 PM and 2 AM. Timex warns that changing it during this interval may damage the date-change mechanism.

- Pull the crown all the way out to the third position.
- Turn it in either direction until the hands show the correct time.
- Push the crown fully back in.
Set the day, if your watch displays it
With the crown fully out in the third position, turn it through complete 24-hour cycles until the desired day appears. Then push the crown fully in. This is Timex’s method for the day display on the described analog Day/Date arrangement.

Why the crown must be fully in
After setting the watch, press the crown completely into its normal position. Timex says this is important for maintaining water resistance; do not assume the watch remains water-resistant if the crown is left pulled out.
