What you need before setup
- The watch and its magnetic charging head: Amazfit’s Hong Kong product page lists both in the box, along with a standard strap and instruction manual. - A compatible phone and the Zepp App: That regional page lists Android 7.0 and above and iOS 15.0 and above. Treat these as the minimums stated on that page, not a guarantee that every feature works on every phone. Check the current Zepp App store listing and Amazfit support information for your country.
- Time to follow the on-screen prompts: Amazfit lists the T-Rex Dual Solar in its official support product list, but the available material does not provide a model-specific pairing procedure. Amazfit Support.
Pair the watch with your phone
The steps below are a cautious starting point based on Amazfit’s identification of Zepp as the companion app. They are not a verified, model-specific button-by-button procedure.

- Charge the watch using the supplied magnetic charging head and a compatible power source. The Hong Kong package list says no cable is included, so use a cable or power source you already know works with the charging head; a specific adapter requirement has not been established.
- Install the current Zepp App from your phone’s app store, then open it and follow its current instructions to add a device.
- When prompted, follow the pairing prompt displayed on the T-Rex Dual Solar and the corresponding instructions in the app. Do not substitute button presses or menu names from another Amazfit model.
- If the app cannot find the watch, check that Bluetooth is enabled and that the app has the phone permissions it requests. Follow the app’s current troubleshooting prompts or consult Amazfit support rather than trying an unverified model-specific reset or pairing sequence.
Amazfit’s available T-Rex 3 support page documents that model, not the T-Rex Dual Solar. Its gestures, control-center steps, and menu labels are therefore not reliable instructions for this watch. Amazfit T-Rex 3 support page.
Set the essentials after pairing
The T-Rex Dual Solar’s official product information describes display, calling, notifications, health monitoring, and navigation capabilities. The exact settings paths and labels should be checked on the current watch interface; the priorities below are not confirmed menu paths.

Make the display suit your day
Choose brightness and always-on behavior based on where you use the watch and how often you need to read it at a glance. Brighter or continuously active display settings can trade runtime for visibility; solar exposure and other settings also affect battery life.
Keep only useful notifications and calls
Amazfit lists smartphone notifications and Bluetooth calling. Allow the phone permissions required for alerts, then limit notifications to the apps and contacts you actually want on your wrist. If alerts do not arrive, check the app’s notification access and background-permission settings on the phone; the precise paths vary by phone and operating system.
Choose health tracking deliberately
Enable only the measurements and alerts you want. Amazfit notes that monitoring must be enabled and that movement and individual or environmental factors can affect measurement speed and accuracy. Treat watch readings as wellness information, not a diagnosis or substitute for medical advice.

Prepare navigation before you leave
Amazfit advertises preloaded maps, downloadable map layers, stored routes, and offline route planning. Before a trip, prepare the map or route you need and verify that it is available on the watch; check the route on the device before relying on it outdoors. These are manufacturer-described capabilities, not independently tested performance.
Set units and shortcuts to match your routine
Review units and activity shortcuts, then personalize them only after confirming the controls on the Dual Solar itself. Do not assume another T-Rex model’s control-center gesture or shortcut menu applies.

The watch has a 660 mAh rated battery. Amazfit’s 2026 product page claims up to 25 days of typical-use battery life, up to 34 days of typical use with three hours of front-side solar exposure, and up to 51 days of typical use with three hours of rear-side solar exposure. Both solar scenarios assume three hours of sunlight at 50,000 lux, and all figures are manufacturer estimates rather than independent test results. For setup, the useful takeaway is the trade-off: choose display and monitoring settings for the visibility and tracking you need, rather than treating the longest battery estimate as a guaranteed result. Check the battery level before a longer outing.
