The only accurate way to confirm whether a G-SHOCK is counterfeit is to have a Casio/G-SHOCK service centre assess it. You can check whether the exact model’s details match official product information first, but a convincing match—or a box, receipt, or manual—does not prove authenticity.
Start with the exact model and collaboration
Identify the complete model code and the specific collaboration, rather than relying on the collection name alone. Official G-SHOCK listings identify individual collaborations by model code; for example, the BlackEyePatch collaboration listing is for the DW-5600BEP-9. Features and appearance vary between collaborations, models, and colorways, so do not use one collaboration watch as the template for another. Compare the watch and its documents with official information
- Get clear evidence. If you are considering a purchase, ask for clear photographs of the watch face, case back, model markings, packaging, and any included paperwork. Ask for the seller’s identity and a receipt or other purchase provenance if available. These requests help you compare details; they are not official authentication tests.
- Check the product listing for that exact model. Compare the dial, case, colorway, and stated functions with the official product information. A mismatch is a reason to pause and ask Casio about the watch. A match is only a consistency check, not proof that the item is genuine.
- Check that the guide fits the watch. Casio says the module number is printed on the back of the watch and can be used to find the matching operation guide. A guide that corresponds to the module can help establish that the documentation is consistent with the watch, but Casio does not describe this as an authentication method. Official guidance does not establish a universal visual checklist, serial-number rule, or packaging test for authenticating G-SHOCK collaborations. Treat any single visual detail or document as inconclusive.
Choose a seller through an official channel
If you have not bought the watch yet, use Casio’s retailer locator to find authorized sellers in your region. A marketplace listing, seller profile, or claim of authorization is not itself an authentication result. Casio’s US FAQ provides retailer and service guidance at Casio Support; the available sellers and procedures can vary by region.

Ask a service centre to assess a watch you own
If you already have the watch and remain uncertain, contact the Casio/G-SHOCK support or service route for your region and ask whether the product can be assessed and how to submit it. G-SHOCK UK Support states: “The only accurate way to tell if a product is counterfeit is to send it into our service centre for an assessment, you can find out how to do this by following the linkhere.” Its answer, “Q. Is my product counterfeit?”, is dated 10 January 2023 and marked updated. G-SHOCK UK Support explains the assessment route; this UK guidance does not establish a global submission process, price, or turnaround time.
For other regions, Casio’s international Watch Support page links to manuals, FAQs, repair, general inquiry, and the G-SHOCK International Warranty Network. Contact the regional service route for current instructions. Avoid opening the case or altering the watch as an amateur check; the official guidance cited here does not identify case-opening as an authentication test.

How to compare two candidate watches or listings
Use these points to organize a comparison, not to declare either watch authentic:

- Seller identity and available purchase provenance
- Whether included paperwork corresponds to the model and module
- Whether an official service-centre assessment is available
A discrepancy warrants a pause and a question to Casio; a clean comparison cannot replace an assessment.
