- Month: Press the pusher at 2 o’clock—the button above the crown—to advance the month.
- Main time and date/day wheel: Pull the crown fully out and rotate it to move the time and wheel through full revolutions.
- Moonphase: The register at 6 o’clock adjusts independently.
The Q&A does not explain the moonphase control’s exact movement or provide a calibration sequence for setting a particular lunar display. Because of that, these controls do not add up to a verified step-by-step moonphase alignment procedure. If the register’s adjustment is unclear, consult the manual linked from the product page for your exact watch or contact Timex support rather than treating the calendar controls as moonphase instructions.
What Timex’s general moonphase manual says
Timex’s general manual section titled “Moon Phase Models” says to pull the crown to the middle position (B), then turn it clockwise or counterclockwise until the correct moon phase appears. It says to return the crown to its normal position afterward and warns that wearing or storing the watch with the crown in the middle position can damage the movement. The manual also gives a separate full-out-crown procedure for setting the time.

If the display or controls do not match
- Recheck the model number rather than relying on the “Marlin” name alone.
- Use the manual linked to your exact product variant; crown positions and functions can differ between models.
- Do not leave the crown in a pulled-out position after setting. For the general manual’s middle-position procedure, Timex specifically says to return it to normal.
- If you cannot identify the independent moonphase adjustment or the indicated phase remains unclear, ask Timex for model-specific guidance instead of forcing the crown or pusher.
