These are launch-era specifications published in 2017, not a condition report for any individual watch. Monochrome describes a titanium central case with forged-carbon horns and crown protection, in dark grey and black with red accents.
What price was reported for the H1 Alinghi?
The contemporaneous price reports disagree on currency. Monochrome Watches reported CHF 65,000 in its 2 November 2017 article; Time and Watches reported €65,000 on 15 November 2017. The reports do not explain the difference, so neither amount should be treated as a confirmed current market value or converted into a present-day asking price.

How the liquid hour display works
HYT’s H1 instruction manual describes a fluidic module driven by the watch movement. Two immiscible liquids sit in a capillary; the boundary, or meniscus, between them indicates the hour. The colored liquid advances along the scale to show elapsed time, then returns to its starting point when it reaches the end. Monochrome describes the Alinghi’s hour fluid as black, with a translucent opposing fluid.
The display is not a decorative tube added to a conventional hour hand: it is the H1’s method of indicating the hours. HYT’s manual says, “Only a professional watchmaker approved by HYT can replace this fluidic system.” For repairs and maintenance, the manual directs owners to approved retailers or HYT customer service and warns that unapproved third-party work voids the guarantee described there. That guidance does not establish that a particular pre-owned watch remains under warranty.

What makes this Alinghi edition distinctive?
Monochrome describes the H1 Alinghi as the third limited watch in HYT’s partnership with the yacht-racing team, following H4 and H2 editions. Sailing equipment informs several dial details: rigging crosses the lower dial, the small-seconds display is shaped like a sail furler, and the power-reserve indicator evokes a winch. An Alinghi logo and discreet engraving reinforce the collaboration.
Reports differ slightly on the precise positions of the small-seconds and power-reserve displays, so the motifs are more reliable identifiers than exact subdial coordinates. The grey reinforced-fabric strap continues the subdued palette, with red accents providing contrast.
