The rollout began October 8, 2025, in phases; as of October 2026, it is no longer the latest version, because Google announced Wear OS 7 for both watches in June 2026.
Did Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 get Wear OS 6?
Yes. Google’s October 8, 2025 announcement listed both models as eligible. The stated global build was BP3A.250905.014.W3 for Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3. That meant owners did not need to buy a Pixel Watch 4 solely to receive Wear OS 6.
The rollout began on October 8 and continued over the following weeks. Google said availability would be phased by carrier and device, so the announcement date did not mean every watch received the update that day. Google’s October 2025 update announcement described the rollout and build.
What Wear OS 6 added on these watches
Google announced interface changes and a small set of feature updates for the Pixel Watch 2 and 3:

These are the phone requirements on Google’s US compatibility and region availability page. If an update was available to your watch, Google said you would be notified on the device. To check manually, open Settings > System > System updates on the watch. A missing update during the rollout could reflect its phased availability rather than model ineligibility.

The title’s “now available” describes the October 2025 rollout, not a current October 2026 launch. On June 16, 2026, Google announced a phased Wear OS 7 rollout for Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4. See Google’s June 2026 update announcement for that later release.

This is a general software-update guarantee, including security updates; it does not promise a particular future feature or Wear OS version.
