The HYT H5 pairs a mechanical movement with a liquid-filled hour display. HYT’s timeline places the watch in 2020 and says it introduced the proprietary Caliber 501, developed by TEC Group. The “new movement” description refers to that launch context—not to a current model or an independently verified hands-on review.
What makes the HYT H5 hydromechanical?
In a conventional watch, the time is shown by hands or another mechanical indicator. The H5 instead uses a capillary containing two immiscible fluids—fluids that do not mix. The boundary between them, called the meniscus, advances along the capillary to indicate the hour.

The display is fluidic, but it is not detached from the watch’s mechanics: HYT’s H5 user guide explains that the movement drives the fluidic module through bellows. In plain terms, mechanical energy operates the liquid display. The moving fluid boundary shows the hour; this description does not establish the watch’s accuracy or reliability.
What was new about the H5 movement?

The H5’s movement is designated Caliber 501. A later HYT T1 release describes a different designation, 501-CM, with 352 parts, 41 jewels, manual winding, 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and a 72-hour power reserve. Those are T1/501-CM figures, not established H5 specifications. HYT’s T1 release.
What H5 specifications and price are established?
The official H5 sources cited here do not establish a complete specification table for the H5, including case dimensions, power reserve, jewel count, or price. They also do not establish current availability. Those details should not be inferred from a later HYT model or an older retailer listing.
What should an owner know about servicing?
HYT’s H5 user guide says that only a professional watchmaker approved by HYT can replace the fluidic system. That restriction matters because the liquid display is an integrated part of the watch, not a component to treat as a routine user-serviceable feature.
