What Haute-Rive introduced
Haute-Rive calls the Honoris I its first creation. The independent Swiss watchmaking venture was founded by watchmaking engineer Stéphane von Gunten. The name carries a family connection, according to the brand: Haute-Rive says it refers to the workshop of von Gunten’s great-great-grandfather. What the 1,000-hour reserve means—and what is known about it
A 1,000-hour reserve is roughly 41 days of running time after winding, if the watch achieves the stated duration. Haute-Rive attributes the reserve to a single winding barrel, rather than multiple barrels working together. WatchPro’s 2023 launch-era search excerpts also describe a three-metre spring and connect the 1,000-hour figure to that single-barrel design; those details are secondary launch descriptions, not independent test findings.

Haute-Rive describes the Honoris as setting a new world record for autonomy with one winding barrel and a tourbillon. That wording should be understood as the maker’s claim: the sources cited here do not provide an independent timed test, a formal record adjudication, or a named body confirming the record. A long stated reserve is a technical specification; verifying the actual duration would require a documented test under stated conditions.
Honoris I and Honoris Meccanica compared
Haute-Rive’s Honoris Meccanica applies the same claimed reserve and component count to a more exposed movement presentation. The brand describes its case as 18-carat white gold and its construction as skeletonized, with a peripheral hour-marker ring and a flying tourbillon around six o’clock.
