Horage’s MicroReg is designed to let an owner adjust the rate of the mechanical Revolution 3 without opening its case. A miniature actuator moves a traditional fine regulator, changing the active length of the balance spring. That is user-directed mechanical regulation—not an electronic timekeeping system, an automatic accuracy guarantee, or a substitute for servicing.
How does the Horage MicroReg system work?
A mechanical watch’s rate depends in part on the balance assembly and its hairspring. Watchmakers commonly regulate that rate either by changing the spring’s active length with a regulator or, in a free-sprung balance, by changing the balance wheel’s inertia. Monochrome’s 2024 technical introduction describes MicroReg as taking the regulator-based route: its actuator moves a fine adjustment mechanism inspired by a Grossmann index adjuster, changing the active length of the balance spring. The actuator, developed with Miniswys, is intended to move the regulator from outside the closed case. The practical distinction is access: the wearer can make a rate adjustment without exposing the movement for that step. Europa Star’s April 2025 partner article describes an actuator made with ceramic and a metal carrier, with no coils, magnets or chips inside the watch and no power draw while it is at rest. Europa Star describes adjustments as small as 0.1 second. That figure refers to the described adjustment resolution; it does not mean the watch’s daily rate is accurate to within 0.1 second. No independently measured accuracy gain or trial result is established in the cited coverage.

Can you regulate the Revolution 3 yourself?
MicroReg is intended to enable owner-directed rate adjustment with an external tool, rather than requiring the case to be opened for that particular regulation step. “Self-regulation” here means making a user-directed adjustment through the mechanism; the available descriptions do not establish autonomous, continuous correction or a closed-loop system that detects and fixes rate errors by itself.
The owner-facing process is not fully confirmed by Horage’s current product listing. Oracle of Time reported in June 2026 that an app was still in prototype and described an external adjustment tool as planned. Those are reported plans, not confirmation that a final app or tool is included, available, or accompanied by particular instructions or training. Oracle of Time’s June 2026 report.

The mechanism is described as operating a traditional regulator in a mechanical movement; it is not described as an electronic timekeeping movement. The sources cited here explain the concept but do not independently inspect a delivered production unit. Nor do they establish that MicroReg eliminates the need for normal watchmaker service or guarantees zero deviation.

Why does the front show time in five-minute increments?
The front uses a time disc graduated in five-minute increments. The reverse provides a more conventional reading, with an hour disc, an independent minute hand and a central seconds hand. The front display is therefore a design choice rather than the only way to read the time on the watch.

Horage’s current product page lists the Founders Edition at CHF 4,950, excluding VAT and duties, with shipping included. The same page lists regular stock at CHF 6,900. These are the seller’s listed prices, and the page’s shipping dates are projections rather than independently verified delivery outcomes.

Horage says the project began in 2024 and projects that earliest pre-orders will start shipping in October 2026. It projects early 2027 delivery for orders placed from September 2026. The listing also says customized orders become non-refundable after the first two weeks and describes a fallback watch without MicroReg if the project cannot be delivered; review Horage’s current terms before ordering.
Earlier prices and dates reported at launch have been superseded by the current listing: Monochrome’s July 2024 coverage cited a CHF 3,900 founders price and expected late-summer 2026 shipping, while Europa Star’s April 2025 partner article listed CHF 4,490. Those figures are historical, not Horage’s current listed price.
