The MB&F Legacy Machine Flying T Onyx Edition pairs a polished 18k yellow-gold case with a black onyx dial plate, a 50-degree inclined time display and a central flying tourbillon. Launch reports published in March 2024 describe its design and specifications, but do not establish today’s price, stock or production status.
What distinguishes the Onyx Edition?
This execution gives the Legacy Machine Flying T a stark black-and-gold appearance: the black onyx forms the dial plate, set against a polished 18k yellow-gold case. Unlike diamond-set versions of the Flying T, the Onyx Edition is reported without diamond-set case decoration. Monochrome Watches introduced the edition on March 19, 2024 (Monochrome Watches); Fratello also described the onyx-and-gold treatment on March 26, 2024 (Fratello Watches).
How the display and tourbillon work visually
The hours-and-minutes subdial sits at seven o’clock and is inclined 50 degrees, turning the time display toward the wearer rather than laying it flat on the main dial plane. The front is dominated by a central flying tourbillon: an asymmetric opening framed in gold exposes the rotating mechanism. Monochrome describes the tourbillon as completing a rotation every 60 seconds.
Case, movement and reported specifications
The March 2024 launch coverage reports a 38.5mm case diameter and a 20mm total height, including the high domed sapphire crystal. Two crowns handle winding and time-setting. The automatic movement is arranged in a three-dimensional vertical architecture, with the tourbillon and elevated time display contributing to the watch’s layered construction.

Waqt’s March 20, 2024 report corroborates the diameter, height, water resistance, reserve, component count and jewel count. Fratello’s March 26, 2024 account also reports the automatic movement, 100-hour reserve and 30m water resistance. These are specifications published in launch coverage, not measurements made independently here.
Strap and buckle
Monochrome’s March 19, 2024 report describes a black calfskin or alligator strap paired with a yellow-gold pin buckle. The coverage does not state strap dimensions or establish compatibility with replacement straps.

What did the Onyx Edition cost at launch?
Two launch-era reports agree on CHF 114,000 and EUR 120,000 before taxes, but give different US-dollar figures. Monochrome Watches reported USD 138,000 on March 19, 2024, with all listed prices excluding taxes (Monochrome Watches). Fratello reported USD 133,000 on March 26, 2024, alongside the same CHF and EUR amounts before taxes (Fratello Watches). The available reports do not explain the discrepancy, so neither dollar figure should be treated as a current quote.
