The 2024 Mido Ocean Star GMT Special Edition is reference M026.829.18.041.00: a 40.5 mm steel dive watch with a traveller-style GMT, 200 m water resistance and an additional blue textile strap. It is a different watch from Mido’s 44 mm Ocean Star GMT Special Edition of 2022, despite sharing the name.
What distinguishes the 2024 Special Edition?
The name can cause confusion: Monochrome Watches’ March 2024 introduction covers reference M026.829.18.041.00, not the earlier M026.629.11.041.00. The newer reference pairs a smaller case with a navy aluminum bezel insert and a steel bracelet, and comes with a blue textile strap. Monochrome’s 2024 introduction identifies the model and describes its design.

| Case diameter | 40.5 mm, per Monochrome’s 2024 specifications | 44 mm, per Europa Star’s August 2022 report |

| Dial and accents | Glossy navy dial with date at 3 o’clock | Blue dial with red accents |
| Bracelet and additional strap | Multi-link steel bracelet with diving extension; additional blue NATO-style textile strap | Steel bracelet and striped blue-red-white fabric strap |
The 2022 details are reported by Europa Star’s August 2022 article carrying Mido press-release copy. The two editions should not be treated as the same watch or as simple size variants.
How does the GMT work?
Monochrome describes the 2024 model as a traveller, or flyer, GMT. Its main hands show local time; a separate 24-hour hand, read against the bidirectional bezel’s 24-hour scale, indicates a second time zone. Mido’s product page describes the watch as displaying home and local time. This is the stated GMT layout; the available sources do not establish a hands-on test of its setting operation.
