Patek Philippe added a smaller, 40 mm size to the Cubitus collection in 2025 with two precious-metal references: the white-gold 7128/1G-001, with a blue-gray sunburst dial, and the rose-gold 7128/1R-001, with a brown sunburst dial. Both use the same self-winding movement. The 40 mm figure is a diagonal measurement, not a conventional straight-across case width.
What Patek Philippe introduced in 2025
Patek Philippe described the 7128 pair as a new medium size for its Cubitus collection, which launched in October 2024. The 2025 announcement presents the watches as an expansion of that collection—not as its original models. The two references share a design and movement, with case metal and dial color distinguishing them. Patek Philippe’s 2025 announcement identifies their references, materials, dials and movement.

How to read the 40 mm case measurement
For the 7128, specialist reporting describes 40 mm as the diagonal span from 10 to 4 o’clock. It is therefore not directly comparable to a straight-across case-width measurement on watches that use that convention. The same diagonal convention helps explain the original steel Cubitus 5821/1A-001’s reported 45 mm dimension. Monochrome Watches gives the 7128 a thickness of 8.5 mm; Patek Philippe lists the 5821/1A-001 at 8.3 mm thick. Monochrome’s 2025 report explains the 7128 measurement, while Patek Philippe’s 2024 collection announcement gives the original steel model’s specifications.
The diagonal figure alone cannot establish how either 7128 will fit a particular wrist. The available specifications do not give a lug-to-lug measurement or wrist-fit data, so compare by trying one on or asking an authorized retailer for a measured fit.

Shared design and movement
Both watches have the Cubitus rounded-square case, with alternating vertical satin-brushed and polished surfaces. Their dials have horizontal relief decoration. Each integrated gold bracelet has a lockable adjustment system and a patented fold-over clasp with four independent catches, according to Patek Philippe’s 2025 product announcement.
Inside both references is the self-winding caliber 26-330 S C, with stop-seconds and a central rotor in 21K gold. The movement is shared; the distinction between the two 7128s is their metal-and-dial combination.

How the 40 mm models relate to the original Cubitus
The collection launched in October 2024 with three different watches: the stainless-steel 5821/1A-001 with an olive dial, the steel-and-rose-gold 5821/1AR-001 with a blue dial, and the platinum 5822P-001 with a grand date, day and moon-phase display. The 7128s expand the range with full white- and rose-gold cases at the new medium size; they are not versions of the steel model’s olive dial. Patek Philippe’s 2024 release lists the original models and describes the steel 5821/1A-001 as 45 mm diagonally, 8.3 mm thick and water-resistant to 30 m.

The official 2025 announcement passage naming the 7128 references does not state a price. Two specialist publications reported different launch-era euro figures: Monochrome Watches reported €76,000 on 1 April 2025, while Time and Watches reported €77,220 on 30 April 2025. These are conflicting contemporary reports, not a settled official price, and neither establishes current pricing. Monochrome Watches and Time and Watches give their respective figures.
