What is the End of Days 26420CE?
It is a Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph created for the collection’s 30th anniversary. Audemars Piguet identifies the tribute by its full reference, 26420CE.OO.A005VE.01, and describes its black ceramic and yellow-accent design as a modern nod to the End of Days 25770SN. The brand says the revival is limited to 500 pieces. Audemars Piguet’s anniversary feature presents the watch as a tribute to the original.
The 26420CE designation also appears on other colorways. For an exact-reference comparison, use the entire reference rather than treating every 26420CE as the End of Days edition.
How does the revival relate to the 1999 original?
The Offshore was introduced in 1993. Audemars Piguet’s historical account says Arnold Schwarzenegger and then-brand executive François-Henry Bennahmias decided to create a watch together in 1997. Their collaboration led to the blackened-steel Royal Oak Offshore End of Days, reference 25770SN, produced as a 500-piece edition for the 1999 film launch. The 2023 watch carries forward the original’s black-and-yellow visual identity in black ceramic, rather than reproducing the original’s blackened-steel construction. Both editions are stated to comprise 500 pieces, but they are distinct references from different eras and materials.
François-Henry Bennahmias, Audemars Piguet CEO from 2012 to 2023, described the 1999 collaboration as helping put the collection on the map, particularly in street culture, and called a tribute for the Offshore’s 30th anniversary an obvious choice. What specifications are confirmed for the .A005VE.01?
The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry reported the revival as a 43 mm black-ceramic model with titanium details and a total weight of 103 grams. It is powered by Calibre 4401, an automatic chronograph with a column wheel and flyback function. The federation explains that flyback lets the wearer reset and restart the chronograph with one pusher press. Its report, dated May 17, 2023, is the cited source for these figures and movement details.
Other specifications are not established for the exact End of Days suffix by the available product details. In particular, Audemars Piguet’s page for the separate green-dial 26420CE.OO.A063VE.01 lists a 14.4 mm thickness, 100 m water resistance, 70-hour power reserve, and dark-green leather and black rubber straps. Those are details for .A063VE.01, not verified specifications for .A005VE.01. The official .A063VE.01 product page identifies that distinct configuration.

How many were made, and what does the End of Days cost?
Audemars Piguet states that the 2023 .A005VE.01 tribute is limited to 500 pieces; its heritage history also identifies the 1999 25770SN as a 500-piece edition. These edition quantities do not establish how many examples are currently available for sale.
No exact-reference retail or resale price is established here for 26420CE.OO.A005VE.01, nor is its current availability confirmed. The $64,400 displayed on the official product page belongs to the separate green .A063VE.01 configuration and should not be treated as the End of Days price.
